MAS offers year-end promotional fares

Malaysia Airlines is offering promotional airfares from November 25 to December 2, 2013, for travel between November 28, 2013 and June 30, 2014.

Economy class airfares will be discounted by up to 50 per cent, while those of business class will be slashed by as much as 60 per cent, according to a statement today.

These offers cover fares from Malaysia to destinations in Southeast Asia, North Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Australia, North America and Europe.

Muzammil Mohamad, Regional Senior Vice President, Malaysia, said in the statement: "Malaysia is a beautiful place with much to offer and 2014 being the Visit Malaysia Year, we encourage domestic travel for Malaysians and others alike to explore this tropical paradise."-- Bernama

To the consumer, it is a victory but to shareholders
when your yield is low, offering further discounts
means higher losses and the increase in load factor only makes
MAS look good on paper.
While economy tickets should be discounted , I don't see the logic
why the rich should enjoy even bigger discounts?

this company has been bailed out by the govt to the tune of RM19Bil. Billion with a capital B! Ask yourself, whose money is that?
