KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia's main index remained higher at mid-morning, buoyed by positive sentiment in the local market and similar trends across most regional bourses.
At 11.00 am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) garnered 7.41 points to 1,628.11 from Tuesday's close of 1,620.70.
The benchmark index opened 3.71 points higher at 1,624.41.
In the broader market, advancers outpaced decliners 523 to 291, with 401 counters unchanged, 1,179 untraded, and nine suspended.
Turnover was at 1.15 billion units valued at RM666.97 million.
Among the heavyweights, Tenaga Nasional climbed 28.0 sen to RM14.36, CIMB Group advanced 7.0 sen to RM8.19, Public Bank gained 6.0 sen to RM4.49, and Maybank added 4.0 sen to RM10.58, while IHH Healthcare slipped 4.0 sen to RM7.27.
On the ACE Market, debutant 3Ren surged 8.0 sen to 36 sen.
Among other active stocks, Top Glove rose by 4.0 sen to RM1.12, Cape EMS gained 1.5 sen to 37.5 sen, and Green Packet added half a sen to 2.5 sen, while Aizo Group remained flat at 15.5 sen.
On the index board, the FBM Emas Index advanced 67.08 points to 12,294.32, the FBMT 100 Index climbed 64.18 points to 12,003.00, the FBM Emas Shariah Index gained 53.91 points to 12,238.72, the FBM 70 Index surged 130.99 points to 17,867.75, and the FBM ACE Index added 35.83 points to 5,104.91.
By sector, the Financial Services Index increased by 117.99 points to 19,285.52, the Energy Index rose 4.20 points to 841.55, while the Industrial Products and Services Index slipped 0.14 of-a-point to 172.17, and the Plantation Index edged down 8.06 points to 7,604.37.
