Strong USD, Weak RM – Potential Stocks - L. C. Chong
On this weekend, I will revisit WELLCAL, VITROX, GTRONIC, WILLOW and SCIENTX. I will invest 1-2 counters out of these 6.
For your interest, you can also look into stocks that exporting products to USD and Europe, such as:
- Furniture counters (HOMERITZ, HEVEA, etc…)
- Glove counters (TOPGLOV, SUPERMX, etc…)
- Textile and packaging counters (MAGNI)
- Consumer discretionary (CSENIC)
- Electronic (UCHITEC, MPI, etc…)
The above list is not exhaustive. Do your homework, and you will find stocks that benefit from strong USD.
Few key factor you mustn’t forget:
- Demand of products manufactured by the company must be sustainable during this tough economy condition, and of course, preferably increasing over time.
- The counters should also benefit from low commodity prices.

Glove and condom....bad time, good time, you sure need to use it. For bad times, electronics can be put on hold.

Prices of most counters have dropped quite drastically ... hope tomorrow , there won't be so much blood on the streets !!!

Market won't rebound that fast, it's bleeding non stop. Safer to keep to the sideline as many investors are losing money and worsened by margin calls and forced selling by banks n stockbrokers. The worst is not yet over. Cash is king.

Too difficult to make a conclusion. Mkt bottom is always when there is a lot of fears. Now i see the fear escalate everyday. Jus wait for tipping point. The sharper it drop the faster it rebound.

Semiconductor share should up when ringgit depreciate , expose earning is USD, expenses especially overhead, utility cost in ringgit...but market sentiment is weak...difficult to say...

You'er right..ddee, definitely not bottom yet..No company bust or bail out or bankrupt la.. good to stay sideline a litter longer...cash is king. O&G counters are very attractive now.
