NEW YORK, Aug. 29 -- Oil prices advanced on Thursday.
The West Texas Intermediate for October delivery gained 1.39 U.S. dollars, or 1.87 percent, to settle at 75.91 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for October delivery added 1.29 dollars, or 1.64 percent, to settle at 79.94 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
