Puan Hazlina Ahmad graduated from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom with L.L.B. (Honours) in 1997. In 1999, she obtained the Certificate in Legal Practice and was called to the Malaysian Bar in October of the same year. She holds an MBA degree and a Certificate of the Associate Qualifications in Islamic Finance (AQiF) [IBFIM]. She is a certified company secretary and an associate member of the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) since January 2007. She has been a sub-committee member of Bar Council Islamic Finance Committee since 2010.

Puan Hazlina began her legal career as a chambering student at Messrs Othman Hashim & Co and subsequently advanced to the position of a legal assistant at the same firm, serving from 1999 to 2000. Following this, Puan Hazlina joined Messrs Siti Haja Teh, Azreen & Khuan, where she spent over six years handling civil litigation, real estate, property and banking cases.

In 2007, Puan Hazlina joined Messrs Khairul, Suhaila & Hazlina as a partner. During her tenure, she headed the Company Secretarial and Trademark Department and co-led the Property and Banking Department as well as the Corporate and Conveyancing Department, focusing on corporate agreements and banking documentation.

Currently, Puan Hazlina is a Partner at Messrs Ariff & Co., where she leads the Banking and Corporate Department, specializing in corporate advisory services, drafting and reviewing business agreements such as joint ventures, share sales, and franchise contracts, and providing strategic legal advice on corporate restructuring, mergers, acquisitions, and corporate financing under both conventional and Islamic principles. She also heads the Company Secretarial Department. Additionally, she co-leads the Real Estate and Properties Department and driving the firms business development efforts.
