Making investing enjoyable, understandable and profitable…
Is it not true, that the really big fortunes from common stocks have been garnered by those
- who made a substantial commitment in theearly years of a company in whose future they had great confidence and
- who held their original shares unwaveringly while they increased 10-fold or 100-fold or more in value?
The answer is "Yes."
ALL EQUITY SECURITY INVESTMENTS PRESENT A RISK OF LOSS OF CAPITAL
Investment performance is not guaranteed and future returns may differ from past returns. As investment conditions change over time, past returns should not be used to predict future returns. The results of your investing will be affected by a number of factors, including the performance of the investment markets in which you invest.
Observation over many years has taught us that the chief losses to investors come from the purchase of low-quality securities at times of favorable business conditions.
Basically, Graham is saying that most stock investors lose money because they invest in companies that seem good at a particular point in time, but are lacking the fundamentals of a long-lasting stable company.
This seems obvious on the surface, but it’s actually a great argument for thinking more carefully about your individual stock investments. If most of your losses come from buying companies that seem healthy but really aren’t, isn’t that a profound argument for carefully studying any company you might invest in?

Are you hoping it will go back to your even buying price? :-)
Your round trip in Netx was interesting. Never get involved with a stock at the time of maximum optimism. Many investors lose money when they get involved in secondary companies that showed a temporary good earning period which cannot be sustained long-term.

In 1980s, the long term Bond interest rate was 15%. A company earning ROE of 15% at that time was worth no more than its book value. A company earning ROE of 12% was a subpar business.
OTOH, a business earning ROE of 12% is an excellent business when long term bond interest rate is at 3%.

Decoys employed to attract the "turkeys" in Netx by calvintaneng:

3.
4.

Also, what were the decoys employed by calvintaneng to attract the "turkeys" to be interested and engaged in GSB?
The above article will be more credible if calvintaneng has used his promotions as obvious examples too.

Calvin can share his stocks picked to everyone as a reference. We can select them and invest if we feel confident.
I do not like Calvin attacked many writers and recommended his stocks to override the writers. If he is good, I appreciate his sharing.
Most of the times, I check his stock selections, most of them are lousy stocks in term of fundamental. In term of TA, they are down trending. I just keep quiet because I do not like to attack any writer in I3.
Most of his actions are very irritating and he does not show any respect for others.

CIRCUMSTANCES LEADING TO THE SUIT
SAS is the owner of the Malaysian Patent No. MY-172803-A (hereinafter the “MY’803
Patent”).
The FOBO Tag and FOBO Tire which are SAS’s own products, incorporates a number of
Bluetooth technologies invented and/or developed by SAS. One technology which is relevant
to the Suit is the technology whereby the pairing information of the FOBO Tag and FOBO Tire
(being Bluetooth accessories) can be transferred to a new device and/or shared across
multiple smart devices without the need to reinitiate the pairing process (hereinafter referred
to as the “CrossPair Technology”).
This CrossPair Technology is the invention claimed by SAS in the MY’803 Patent. On 12
December 2019, SAS was granted a patent for the CrossPair Technology entitled “A System
and Method for Transmitting, Storing, Receiving and/or Retrieving Identification Information
or Data and/or Pairing Information or Data Between Accessories or Associated Products and
Smart Electronic Devices Into and/or from any Distinct Server or Storage Media” by way of
the MY’803 Patent having the filing date of 28 November 2012.
On or about July 2021, SAS discovered that Apple uses a system and method that incorporate
the features as claimed by the MY’803 Patent, or at the very least, their equivalents with
immaterial differences, without SAS’s authority, permission and/or licence (hereinafter the
“Infringing Technology”).
On 30 August 2021, SAS sent, via its solicitors, a letter to Apple, where SAS, amongst others,
notified Apple of the MY‘803 Patent and SAS believed that Apple uses a technology that
infringes the MY’803 Patent.
On 21 December 2021, Apple responded to SAS’s letter denying that the technology used by
Apple infringes the MY’803 Patent, amongst others. Hence, in order to protect SAS’s
intellectual property rights granted under the Malaysian Patents Act 1983, SAS proceeded to
file this Suit.
An inquiry as to damages or, at the Plaintiff’s option, an account of profits made
by the Defendant, its related companies, subsidiaries and/or affiliates, in respect
of all products using the Infringing Technology (and/or any other technologies
that infringe Malaysian Patent No. MY-172803-A) and/or use of the Infringing
Technology (and/or any other technologies that infringe Malaysian Patent No.
MY-172803-A) either within or outside of Malaysia and an order for payment of
all sums found due upon the making of such inquiry or taking of such account to
the Plaintiff;
