I don't believe in an old man who has lost all credibility but I believe in the numbers JTiasa produced this FY1Q and expected to produce next Q. Excellent profits/cashflow begets another generous dividend.

You will have to ask Executive Chairman Kelvin Tan what's on his mind. We can only make an educated guess as to his plans. Going by recent developments, perhaps more land/asset sales to bring in quick profits.

Sbb if done prudently and timed right does have its purpose of stabilizing the share price and achieving better yields than idle deposits in the bank. But this aggressive buying is something out of the ordinary.

Get your figures right; 0.05 sen is not RM0.05. Then get your Financial Years on track; dividends 2.5 sen for FY2023 paid in May 2024 and 2.5 sen interim for FY2024 paid in Dec 2024. Of course you can pray for another dividend FY 2024 if cash is not run down due to exuberant sbb.

How does current dividend 2.5 sen at TSH share price 1.20 yield above 4%? My calculator says 2.083%.

@Calvintaneng ; Did you read Chap12 MLR but failed to understand it? Maximum sbb is 10% of issued shares or 138.2 m, period. Not 1% or 10% every year.

There he goes again. Instead of learning, the clown keeps regurgitating so called past successes. All you need to do is press his 'cannot be wrong' button and it all comes out. Like auto drive.

Sigh...of course you can have a say at the AGM. Who can stop you even as a teeny weeny minority shareholder? All shareholders are entitled to attend the AGM and vote as they deem fit. That is having a say.

Don't fret, fellow investors, there is no way TSH can become a fully cornered stock through share buy-backs. There's a little rule known as Chap 12 Main Listing Regulation that governs sbb but the ignorant clown is apparently unaware of it as he is of so many other little important things. An ignoramus will continue to be one until he makes conscious effort to educate himself. Chap12 MLR limits sbb to a maximum of 10% of issued capital, in TSH's case, a mere 138.2m. Besides, sbb is subject to shareholders' approval and needs to be renewed annually. You can always have your say at the company's AGM on this issue.

Privatize at 1.25? No premium to market? The bid is too low to get at least 90% control and then compulsorily acquire the rest. Even at 1.25, he needs to secure funding of approx 1 billion to make a bid for shares he and his siblings do not control. Not chicken feed for an individual. Back of the envelop calculations indicate Kelvin Tan and siblings control some 600m shares.

The company will run out of cash before sellers run out of selling stock at 1.25 should CPO prices fall back towards RM4k in 2025 and weak holders want out. It happened after May 2022 when CPO prices corrected to normal levels around RM4k and TSH fell below 1.00.
5 days ago | Report Abuse
What is Executive Chairman Kelvin Tan thinking? Aggressive sbb at a time when future CPO prices show a moderating trend in 2025. Reminds of his own TSH share buying spree from May 2022 to Jan 2023 when he purchased some 76 m shares in daily 500k tranches in open market prices from around 1.25 to 1.00 and then suddenly stopped on 11/1/23. Totally inexplicable and almost bizarre behavior. Did it help prop up the share price? Evidently not but provided extra liquidity for many to exit.

The buying today is persistent but disciplined. Most probably some fund buying with year end approaching and OSK being in MSCI Global Small Cap Index is a pull factor. We may see more fund action in the days to come.

KYY is unable to do much in the market anymore. No more the self acclaimed super investor, few faithful followers, severe reputation damage and little money left. As someone scathingly remarked, just an old bag of wind hoping for a sunny day.

Spelling out existing facts is not talking bad. There's a lesson to be learnt from this. But some people are incapable of accepting mistakes and learning from it. Worse still, they drag some naive souls into their quagmire and are unapologetic about it.

Neither desperate wishing nor share buy backs will help push TSH to greater heights. What helps is improved future earnings and/or possibly, sale of a parcel Kalimantan lands at elevated prices to excite punters. The partial Kalimantan land sale cancellation earlier this year after protracted delays certainly dampened investor enthusiasm. Opening of Ikn Nusantara to the public has come and gone but likewise the excitement and constant news. TSH share price is now so far behind JPG and JTiasa. It seems idiocy and obstinacy continues to be bed partners.

When you buy OSK, what do you get? A bunch of businesses including banking and financial services, property development, cable manufacturing, hospitality, that appears non-synergistic but has one thing in common. They are largely profitable, some better than others, some growing faster than others but all relatively well run. And OSK pays high and growing dividends from these profits. What's not to like about OSK?

Happiness is JTiasa share price overhauling JPG's. It can only achieve this feat with strong hands buying for the longer term and believing in JTiasa's future.

Here is some indulgent speculation. Assuming similar results for 2Q2025, which is highly achievable, net profit (TTM) will reach RM170m or earnings of 17.5 sen per share. At PER of 8-9x, this translates to a share price of 1.40-1.70. Additionally, dividends are raised to 7-8 sen per share. What's there not to like about JTiasa?
3 weeks ago | Report Abuse
Strong steady hands are buying into JTiasa. Those who believe the company has turned the corner and is motoring on a straight stretch. Next quarter FY2Q2025 may see even better results plus an interim dividend. It was too much to hope for a special dividend this quarter, that would have been overly generous.

The final solution dealing with toxicity is to not respond to the source of provocation and just walk away. It is difficult to do so when you are unjustly maligned but ultimately, there is no other solution.

Decent 3Q2024 results but no special dividend announced. You would think small family controlled companies would dividend out surplus cash in 2024 to avoid the 2% dividend tax that may come in next year. Exactly what Lysaght did and coupled with good results, turbocharged its share price.

@Sslee ; What is your view on the recent sell off on JTiasa from 1.27 to 1.16? Too many weak short term speculators spooked by CPO price correcting below Rm5k? I am a bit surprised by the extent of the fall back given that 1Q2025 results (expecting good results) will be out within 2 weeks.

Great buying opportunity today to get closer to top 30 shareholders or even to break in with so many weak holders being weeded out.

The out performer in plantation stocks is JPG. From RM1.05 to above 1.35 in one week in good volume after languishing below 1.00 for months after its June 24 IPO. Strong hands are buying.

I can't agree more with Phillip. People who are unable or unwilling to learn from their stock picking mistakes are doomed to repeat them. Who has not made mistakes investing in stocks? The good thing is, the market is always there and you have opportunity to make back your losses.

TSH nearing its 2024 high of 1.25 but very far from its 2022 "kaw kaw buy" high of 1.80+ which is a mountain to climb. Future earnings won't propel it to this height so will the management again attempt to sell part of its Kalimantan lands to drum up speculative interest?

Thanks to Calvin for zipping his mouth, TSH moves up in the blissful absence of his incessant promotion. Will it catch up with JPG and JTiasa?

WTK's exports logs to India and plywood to Japan/Taiwan. Timber revenue has been stable around RM180m the past 3 years 2021-2023 whereas plantation revenue increased from RM148m to 225m and the business is profitable over the same period. Other businesses Tapes, Frozen Foods are relatively modest. If Timber can contain its losses or make profit, WTK will report decent profits in 2024. Note that EBITA was positive in 2021, 2022 and 2023 at RM52m, 76m and 46m respectively. WTK is recovering from a low base price.

To be brutally frank, over the last 21/2 year period, TSH has fallen precipitously from its 2022 high of 1.80+ while JTiasa has broken its 2022 high of 1.20+ in 2024, and still holds around that level. That, despite some long term shareholders selling. Someone should critically and objectively examine the reasons why. And maybe learn something useful.

"Don't fall in love with a stock, no matter how enticing". Did Calvintaneng fall in love with TSH? Or, having put himself out there as TSH's principal promoter, he could not bear to be proved wrong despite changes in circumstances? Did his narcissism numb all other senses?

In a mere few days, JPG which listed in June 24 at retail price of 0.84 sen, has overhauled TSH which continues to languish around 1.10. This is despite persistent selling by cornerstone subscriber EPF. Anyone holding on to TSH has missed the opportunity to switch to better stocks such as JPG or JTiasa.

Calvintaneng; Is another once in a lifetime plantation rally coming? You still have not put to rest the "kaw kaw buy" ghost of the April 2022 rally. Were you wrong then or is this a continuation of 2022?

Calvintaneng ; Were you wrong in 2022 about a once in a lifetime bull run in CPo prices and plantation stocks? You have never acknowledged it nor apologized for your mistake.
1 month ago | Report Abuse
Virtuosity was displayed in April 2022 when some deranged clown predicted a once in a lifetime bull run in CPO prices when it briefly breached RM7k and screamed buy kaw kaw on plantation stocks. Commodity price cycles are notoriously brief and unpredictable but that did not deter his enthusiasm. Not even the less than sanguine opinions of industry experts. He knows better. TSH broke 1.80 then but came down to earth quickly as CPO prices fell back. TSH at 1.10 now is a gruesome investment for those who heeded his buy kaw kaw cry in 2022 and are still trapped.

Calvintaneng; "Since all up i did not chase but buy laggard Tsh"
Why did you not pick the "all up" plantation stocks to buy earlier? Not very clever is it? You can now sell the "all up" stocks in exchange for more TSH. I can exchange 1 JTiasa for 1.2 TSH after making the reverse switch some 3 months back. Laggard TSH will remain so unless its Nusantara lands can be monetized and that dream is fraught with uncertainties.

2024 may be the breakout year for JTiasa with all 5 criteria of a desirable investment being met. A perfect storm in the making. Results for the last 2 quarters were a tad disappointing but the next 2 quarters should make up for it. Target is to break into top 30 shareholders. Will need to re-allocate portfolio to meet target.

JTiasa currently meets all the criteria of a desirable investment stock with good ROE, high cash flow, low P/E, low P/NTA and high dividend yield. Until one or more criteria fail, hold on to the stock. High CPO prices provide a bulwark against such failure. Recent market action is an indication of serious money coming in, believing in the recovery story and taking out stale bulls and weaker holders.
