Bursa is a strange creature. The herd instinct runs deep in this creature and a stampede into penny stocks can be triggered by smart syndicates when the time is right. Manipulation is the trigger and greed is the fuel for small investors to pile into these penny stocks.

@dompeilee....Patience is a virtue. I hold a portfolio of palm oil plantation related stocks including WTK and JTiasa but will not knock slow moving WTK. Every dog will have its day and similarly with currently not in favor WTK. It just needs a catalyst to perform in this market.

Sorry, 1.5 sen dividend; even when times are not so great for their timber business. Risk reward ratio looks pretty good going forward. Always looked at WTK as smaller cousin brother of JTiasa, both being Miri based and in similar business. Now waiting for WTK price to catch up a bit with JTiasa.

When other predominantly palm oil counters move up, others such as WTK with smaller palm oil estates of 40,000 acres gets noticed as laggards. Should 1Q 2022 results show substantial improved results and I expect it to be so, this counter will really move then. Good cash hoard, dividend 1.5% coming, selling at a fraction of nta, timber prices slowly improving ; what's there not to like? Get in early for the run.

I think Calvin meant Utd Plt estates in TI are peat soil and no good for housing development ;not that they are no good for oil palm (or coconut). Utd Plt manage their estates efficiently and treat their workers very well. Their little bakery selling delicious bread and bakery products at TI estate is a must visit every time I pass by that area.

Ignore the Koon fella. He is a nobody trying to be a somebody in the investing world. His time is long past but he cannot see it. He has no credibility and probably little money left after recent horrendous stock picks. No more drivel about being a super investor. Not much money left. That is the usual end result of stock speculators who can't stop punting. Just like gamblers, they lose sight of reason.

Good call on HS Plant, Calvintaneng. I like its high cash position and ability to pay good dividends with increasing profits in the quarters ahead. Stock price recovers dividend amount within one day of going ex! Not so great call on WTK though; high cash but weak profits because of timber losses and a stagnant share price.

What lousy simple minded analysis. Similar to his helicopter hype years ago on JTiasa when it was above RM2.00. He sold his entire holdings when followers bought in and laughed at them subsequently for not getting out quick enough. This is an evil old conman with no conscience. Beware. TDM is cheap for good reason. There may be more large write offs to come from discontinued operations since RM105 million of its assets is still held in the books.

WTK was late diversifying into oil palm, unlike JTiasa, as it was troubled by internal shareholder squabbles. But 12k hectares of mainly young trees ain't bad and cushions weak timber/plywood performance. As does its increasing cash hoard RM386m since operations are cash flow positive. Gives ammunition to buy more plantation land when available. Nice touch to increase dividend to 1.5% but investors need more patience to reap good harvest.

Big brother JTiasa announced decent results for the quarter with plantations division the main contributor with timber/plywood almost breaking even. Now awaiting WTK's results. If it mirrors JTiasa, it can make enough in 4Q2021 to become profitable for the year. The key is in turning round timber/plywood since the other divisions are profitable.

This is 6 monthly results. Wait after 12 month full results FYE 30.6.2022 for dividend announcement. I expect resumption of dividend payment this year with good financial performance and accumulated cash in treasure chest. JTiasa below 0.80 is very cheap given improving fundamentals backed by NTA 1.25.

Western mainstream media has nothing good to say about China. News is always twisted and prejudiced. Why do Americans pick on Gu AiLing for representing China in freestyle skiing but not Naomi Osaka for representing Japan in tennis? Both were American trained and raised, even if Osaka was Japan born, moving to the US with her parents when aged only three. Is it because Gu decided to honor her Chinese maternal side for very personal reasons? If Gu was half Japanese, would she have attracted such undeserved vitriol? I am rooting for her to medal in all three free ski disciplines she is entered it and for western media to "eat it".

The first wave of fund buying into palm oil stocks seem to have started judging by prices and volumes for the large caps. I believe it is a harbinger of good news to come this year for stocks in the sector. Time to make selective buys. The tiger will beat up big bad wolf if he dares to show up in the plantation.

WTK small profit for 3Q21 is nothing to shout about. The 3 divisions plantation, manufacturing and trading made barely enough to offset losses in timber division. The company's businesses need overhauling and unproductive assets put to good use. Otherwise WTK will just limp along with its best days long past.

A friend who owns 1000 acres mature oil palm plantation in Pahang has been grossing around RM1 million per month from FFB sales. Works out to RM1000 per acre per month or an astounding RM12,000 per annum. Best ever in its history. But then he has a very reliable manager and the plantation is very well run. High yields, no leakages. He is very happy.

WTK is still principally in timber/plywood but the plantation division is playing an ever more important role. For 1H2021, loss making timber operations are being scaled back while oil palm plantation yields and profits are improving.Trading and manufacturing are stable, contributing modest profits. If this trend continues for 2H2021, and there is no reason for it not to, this being management's reported strategy, WTK can turn profitable for 2021 year thanks to high CPO prices and improving yields. There's also room for rationalization/monetization of its high value industrial property assets with the timber business being scaled down. There is much to hope for in WTK going forward.

WTK is a good recovery play if it can move back into decent profitability and pay better dividends than 1%. Can good oil palm business offset poor timber/plywood business in the next few quarters? That is the question. High asset backing has no benefit to minority shareholders.

Article in the Edge 9/13 is titled 'KNM-a new chapter or asset stripping' by Adam Aziz. Nowhere is there any mention of MAAG fronting for LSE family. Anyone who knows MAAG's Tunku Yaacob can tell you he is a corporate player himself with a mixed record of success over two decades. Asset stripping, particularly hiving off Borsig, is therefore a strong possibility. Fronting for LSE family is definitely off.

A long neglected company because the directors, all old men, had no ideas as to what new business to venture into plus were too absorbed in decades long litigation. Or maybe they have hidden plans of their own. Malpac's cash backing already RM1 per share. Plus properties in Mount Austin, Johore at 20 year old historical book prices. On a revalued net asset basis, easily much more than the reported nta 2.29 per share, possibly well above Rm3. No borrowings. Only 75 million shares with 90% tightly held by top 30 shareholders. Under pressure to find new business or be delisted and therefore a prime candidate for a corporate exercise. Next few weeks will tell what's happening.

What's the issue with this counter? Reports great profits for Q3 2021 heading for record for the financial year and many small shareholders are exiting despite prospective low single digit PE. Past dividend record is abysmal, yes, but the company can afford to declare special dividend and a bonus issue this year to reward shareholders.

Market sentiment is very poor and can get worse. All shares, good or bad, have been bashed down in this selloff. No one knows when the bloodbath will stop. Malaysia has too many issues to resolve. Only a super arrogant egotist will still buy heavily on margin during such times. An altruistic investor will take this opportunity to reflect upon his mistakes and apologize profusely to those he misled into using margin financing. Not this old man. He still crows like some young cockerel.

What a perverse old man. If he really wants to do good, he should stop speculating in the stock market and do real charity that everyone can hear, feel and touch. And do it while he's still alive instead of his smoke and mirrors game that sounds so much like a master con job. Just put RM 30 million in a charitable foundation that is open and transparent about what it does and where records are scrupulously kept. Don't shout about partial (one year?) funding for 300 students who have to borrow most of the funds to finish their education anyway. That is no scholarship. How much is that per student? You already used them repeatedly for publicity and got more than your money's worth.

Conman Koon is a very clever trickster with smoke and mirror illusions that impact impressionable minds. If he stop bragging repeatedly and start real good deeds, I will be the first to laud his contributions. Start with RM30 million vested in charitable foundation in his name and where he is trustee. Let us see some real money doing good work out in the open.

Conmen are long on self promotion but short on actual deeds. Also try to ride on others good reputation and constantly trumpet own small contributions. Which philanthropist tells you he will donate all wealth to charity after his death but do stock speculation during his remaining years? Probably a fake one. Use a little money to help poor students and then milk the ensuing goodwill to enhance reputation. How can anyone verify such claims of charity and $ numbers? Very suspicious. Get an audit firm to verify. By the way, what happened to RM30 million to build hostels at UTAR? Why not use it to start KOON YEW YIN charitable foundation now as someone has suggested while you still breathe. Put your money where your mouth is. A solid RM30 mil vested now is more appreciated than a RM100mil promise in 10 years. At least people know the money is there and the intention is real. As it is, there is too much smoke and mirrors.

Why keep blowing own trumpet repeatedly? Answer: Has a really old and bottomless superego. At least now, he no longer claims to be noble. Everyone should watch out when Bursa announcements come out when he sells Latitude, VS or Lii Hen. You better sell too. For Rsawit, JTiasa, Mudajaya, he quietly sold tens of million shares and now these stocks are down 40% from followers price. Those who still hold curse him.

KYY is no super investor though he likes to make out he is one. He is actually a big speculator by retail standards, taking a large position in selected stocks first and then start promoting them. As for his charitable activities, lots of bragging but little money actually goes out. Some people think he is an old conman, recycling himself time and time again with each new stock he picks. His present promotions are Latitude and VS Industry. Woe to those buy at current levels for when he sells, the stock price will drop like a stone. When you have more money than you require, you should donate the surplus to deserving charities in your lifetime and not claim to want to do it only after you die. For accountability and transparency, form a charitable trust, vest RM20 million in it, so people can see you actually put your money where your mouth is. The colour of your money is important to convince skeptics. As it is, all this shouting about helping poor students is not transparent and does not demand great expense. How much for one foundation year in UTAR anyway? And so much publicity milked from it.
