edkfc Dk66..thankyou for another outstanding write up. Although this is a compilation , it comes with a new insight on law of averages .This certainly boost our confidence level to a much higher level . Also , within two year, 40% ownership and with that PE of 15 or more is realistic. Great job !

Taking 50% discount of the RM 5.40 valuation is RM2.70. There is still more than 80% upside from current price.

Definitely, there is a mechanism to determine the principal business of the company.
---------------------
Ng Chian Zhong @DK66, JR is categorize as construction segment stock, however MFCB is utilities stock. Do you think different industrial segmentation would impact on the share price even they are engaged in similar projects? Is there a possibilities where JR switching from construction to utilities segment?

Jaks will own at least 30% of JV, more than the 20% threshold for equity accounting of JV or associate companies. How can auditors so decide?? qqq3, what is your intention here ??

KLSTK1234 comment reflects the mindset of the general investing public towards Jaks - Lacks of confidence.
The management must take this issue seriously. Investor's confidence must be improved.
I believe Jaks price will hit my first target once the doubts are cleared. There is still a huge pool of investors waiting for green light to buy Jaks.

Jaks has earlier signed a MOU to acquire a solar farm in vietnam but the deal fell through. I presume the management is still seeking other solar opportunities in Vietnam.

OTB, Thank you for your good effort.
In order to improve share price, you must improve investor's confidence.
In order to improve investor's confidence, the management must improve on transparency and awareness. Without due guidance from the management, analysts will not initiate coverage on the company.
Jaks made huge investment on a power plant in Vietnam which is soon to start commercial operation yet there is very little analyst coverage on the plant. Hence, there is very little investor's interest on the company. That is why Jaks' price continues to remain depressed. This is unfair to the general investing public as those with insider information are able to accumulate at low price.
I hope to see more analyst coverage soon especially on the power plant.

prahadude, Both Mong Duong II and Vinh Tan 1 coal power plants in Vietnam operating under BOT were immediately profitable since COD. I have no reason to believe Jaks Hai Duong power plant will not be immediately profitable after COD.

Unless one can correctly estimate the future earnings of the power plant for the next 25 years, you will never be sure whether the current price is too high even though it is trading at historic high now.
The rational logic is the price will continue to trend higher in the mist of growing optimism and awareness on Jaks due to its power plant achieving commercial operation soon.
The 1200MW power plant is a huge investment project, it won't go unnoticed. It is already the most widely picked stock in the 2020 stock pick competition.
However, I m not implying that it will go up forever, it won't.

It is important for the management to take proactive actions in improving transparency and creating awareness. Eg. Active dialog with the analysts and fund managers, keeping its website up to date, and answering minorities queries posted on its website, etc.

2020-02-14 08:54 | Report Abuse
Most will see the price going up from 0.4 to 1.5 in 12 months as excessive but failed to see that Jaks' price was already 1.84 in Jan 2018. Price trend was distorted due to huge forced selling.

stkstudent, I believe you are wrong.
There is a shareholder agreement between Jaks and CPECC governing everything from the management to the distribution of profit. Jaks secured the power plant, it has the upper hand in the JV negotiation.
