Investor999,
I m running out of information to share now. It will only be useful if readers read my article with an open mind and consider my sharing sincere. Otherwise, I won't be able to beat "if so good, why KYY sold ?".
====================
Investor 999 DK66 please write more articles,if possible daily so that share price may break RM1.00 in April. Thanks!

Risky Yeo,
It won't prove that you are a sincere man even if you get 1 billion likes. You only "appeared" to be sincere or people found you to be sincere through your sharing.
Whether you are sincere or not, none other than yourself knows.
I have shared 5 articles and made hundreds of comments on Jaks. To much to ask for opinions ??
=========================
Ricky Yeo I don't get the purpose of this. Would you quit if you get 0 like or would you declare I'm a sincere man if you get 1 mil. likes? If you're writing for sharing, then that's it. What other judge you is irrelevant.

I began commenting on Jaks shortly after Mr Koon's article "why i bought Jaks?". Long enough for assessment. I m not asking for respect but just want to know how many find my sharing sincere. Please do not second guess my intention.

I will not speculate on why the CFO sold Jaks. However, it does affect the sentiment on Jaks just like when Mr Koon left. But the fundamentals will take over soon.

Jaks doesn't need the directors or anyone to push it up. While many here still in doubt over the vietnam IPP, the institutional buyers know how much it is worth. They have to buy slowly or it will push up the price too high too fast for them to buy enough at low price. How could a dead meat rebound 100% when KLCI dropped more than 50 pts during the same period ??
At 0.80, Jaks is worth less than half a billion. Its investment in the vietnam ipp alone is already worth more than half a billion.
Even the CEO mentioned a potential earnings of MORE THAN RM100m from its Vietnam IPP during the last AGM. RM100m profit = EPS of RM 0.17. 10x PE = RM1.70.
To say that Jaks is too high merely because it has rebounded 100% is too simplistic. This may fool the ignorant retailers but not the institutional buyers. They are the one quietly buying while many here are still skeptical about the sustainability of the rebound.
Many must realise that it is now or never. Either take some risks and buy now or you should just wait for the power plant to start generation and buy after its results.
Think NOW......

If the RSP is awarded now, the charge off to p/l in respect of the RSP will be RM30m. Now you should know why they did the RSP when the share price was RM0.50.
2019-04-01 23:14 | Report Abuse
The company didn't award the RSP portion of the LTIP in the right manner. RSP are supposed to be given to employees over a period of time with multiple vesting. Eg, 10,000 RSP given to an employee with 20% vested each year. In this way, the employee can only sell 2,000 shares each year and he has to work in the company for 5 years to get the 10,000 free shares in full.
However, Jaks gave out 38m RSP with SINGLE vesting on 8 Feb. That is why whoever get the free shares can sell them all immediately.

Buying Jaks at this stage is nothing more than a business bet . It is not about fundamental stock investing. It is a business venture. Your success depends very much on your knowledge of the industry and the information you have.
All big companies were small initially. They all took calculated risks and "invested" in opportunities to boom or burst. It is easy for us to be choosy in our stock selection looking for "risk free" investment opportunities. However, as a company, there aren't many golden opportunities available. It is all about risks rewards assessment.
In my opinion, Jaks, a small business, accomplished mission impossible. A deal as huge as Hai Duong Power plant which caught attention of multi-billion company CPECC. A deal classified under china 1B1R initative and Jaks can be part of it which many small companies can only dream of.
Nothing is risk free. Pointless to keep talking about the sovereign risks etc. Use your wisdom and make a BUSINESS decision.

The PPA contains the secrecy clause. Only the insiders know how much EXACTLY Jaks will earn from its 25 year PPA agreement .

Philip,
Based on my knowledge, Kaidi didn't pull out but was "kicked" out for failing to secure financing from chinese banks. Based on the vietnamese news i read, Kaidi has in fact sabotaged Jaks by reporting to the vietnamese government on Jaks financial insecurity.
Jaks approached TNB as a backup plan after the China-Vietnam clashes in 2014 over china alleged oil drilling activity in vietnam water. However, the tensions were eased after Vietnam and China agreed to avoid conflicts in the hotly contested South China Sea.
The BOT contract is not exactly "take or pay" but similar. It consists of capacity charge, energy charge and supplementary charge.
The PPA provides for pass through of fuel costs and therefore "How much will the bot power plant charge the Vietnam government per kWh using coal? And how much will moit charge the IPP power plant for the coal supply contract? " is not relevant to Jaks.
If you can make time, please read my first article "understanding Jaks Hai Duong Thermal Power plant" for better understanding.

Phillip's remarks on the investment risks in Jaks is fair.
I had previously stated that i will only respond to Newbie8080 perfect conditions when Jaks hit RM1.00.
However, since more people have raised concerns over Jaks' investment in Vietnam, I think it is wise for me to clear the doubts as early as possible. At least for the benefit of those who wish to accumulate when the price is low.

Travestor,
Don't just listen to icon8888 and me, if you can "read and think", read our articles and think deeply.
If you can't read and think for yourself, stay away from strangers in i3. More often then not, those "sincere advice" turned out to be not sincere at all. In my opinion, there are more evils than angels in i3. Simply taking BLANK advice from someone in i3 is just too dangerous.
Trust no one in i3, always consider both sides of the arguments, but only CREDIBLE ones.
Listening to those who simply shouted "buy","run", "be careful", "better watch out", "someone trying to offload to you" etc will do you no good.

3 months ago, when everyone thought Jaks was a gone case as its warrant issue was 63% under subscribed. Soon after they thought they were making the right decision not to subscribe as the warrant opened below the subscription price, It turned out to be a big miss on the golden opportunity to make 100% return in 3 months ! Why ? It was because they couldn't see the obvious anomaly in Q3 results and preferred to jump for safety. Fair to say better to be safe than sorry.
The proceeds from the warrant issue was meant to expedite the construction of the vietnam power plant. Jaks recorded 7.3% progress in Q4 2018 which was a big jump from the 2% in Q3. Obviously, the under subscription of warrants did not affect the construction progress.
Perhaps, investors were happy to see the big construction progress in Q4 and immediately rushed to buy until the price shot up 100% from its low. The price may seen to have jumped a lot, but it is still less than half way from its top of RM1.84 in early 2018.
Retail investors were traumatised by the big fall out of Jaks' share price and seem to have forgotten that the company has placed out 10% shares to institutional buyers at RM1.36 in 2017 and another 10% at RM1.38 in 2018. Both placements took less than a month to complete. The institutional buyers must be drawn in by the prospects of the power plant which has not changed since then.
The plant is closer to completion day by day. I m sure these institutional buyers will seize current opportunity to average down their costs.
Jaks is just a small company. It won't be able to fill large buy orders without chasing the price up. Most retail investors prefer to save on waiting time and enjoy to be the last one jumping on board of a moving train.
I hope they won't miss the train, again. Same for you. Good Luck !

Nikmon,
Jaks has rebounded 100% from its low. This can't be a dead cat bound. Dead cat wouldn't have bounded so high as the insiders would have taken the opportunity to sell on any price rally.
If Jaks doesn't have a convincing prospect, it is very difficult to attract new buyers, especially fund managers, into the stock. Without big buyers, the stock could not have made such a big leap.
Big buyers are seeing a good 12 months profit ahead. They know the stock will move higher, That is why they started to buy low.
As the stock is still cheap, it is still under accumulation phase. You are likely to see prolonged period of consolidation waiting for the next catalyst to break out higher.
Don't count on anyone to fry the stock. Frying is only applicable to seasonal stocks whose prospects are highly dependent on temporary uprising factors. Jaks' prospect is certain upon completion of the power plant. All interested buyers want to buy low so they won't chase up the price.
Be patience

Charlie Munger's Big Lesson: Prepare for Opportunity
What is the most important personal quality an investor can have?
Patience... followed by pretty aggressive conduct. It is given to human beings who work hard at it—who look and sift the world for a mispriced bet — that they can occasionally find one. And the wise ones bet heavily when the world offers them that opportunity. They bet big when they have the odds. And the rest of the time, they don’t. It’s just that simple.
MrPotato88, I practise the investment ideology above.

Moveliver, I m sure you are not one of those sour grape trying to scare to buy cheap because you are relatively new in i3.
However, your idea of inverted yield curve's negative impact on Jaks created confusions. Inverted yield curve is a situation where longer term interest rates is lower that shorter term rates. As JHDP borrowed substantially for its power plant, it should benefit from long term low interest rate.
2019-03-23 18:53 | Report Abuse
Moreliver, can you kindly elaborate on how inverted yield curve is detrimental to Jaks? Thanks.
------------
moreliver Am wary over the various dilutive equity fund raisings done so far and the poor execution especially on its property business. Jaks fundamentals are extended unless analysts revise their nuetral call.
The macro concern is related to bond yields worldwide . Take care as the inverted yield curve could set up a sell on Andy's margins.
