"When China is weak and poor, people rush there trying to help and urge china to reform for economic growth. Okay now china grew strong, people do everything they can to stop china. Pathetic human.
Should we prevent India from becoming the next china?"
They will also do this to India. Because if they do not do this, they have nothing to exploit. When China built the 3 Gorges Dam, the west were all crying abt environmental damage. They hope other ppl with continue to light oil lamps in their homes and they will come as tourist to enjoy the scenery.
When u are weak, others will grab yr land. Macao n HongKong are examples. Why Falklands belong to Britain ???

"Looks like a real news! TM in discussion with Axiata on merger and acquisition exercise.Informal meeting underway to lay out future of both companies...isn't this good news?"
Is this real? If it is, it is good for TM. TM can hive off GreenPacket which is bleeding red ink. It will become the most powerful telco with dominant fixed line business and mobile business. It can afford to lower broadband rates.

"Do not fall in love with stocks u are holding". Once the 5 Elliot wave cycle ends, a correction is expected. Shares do not go up forever.
The first event that changed the business dynamics for telcos occurred when the then BN gomen ask for hefty spectrum fees.
Sensing that the good times of telcos are ending, I sold my entire holdings of telcos n be happy with the gains I made even though I did not sold at the peak price. It is only human nature to hold on to stocks with good dividends.
We play the same stocks over and over again n it is only the timing that matters.

It is the previous BN gomen that ask telco to share networks instead of each building their own to avoid duplication.
I am sure lower broadband rates also applies to all telcos besides TM.
U can see all telcos, Digi, Maxis ...on the slippery slope.
TM will not die. It is only that lower rates will decrease its EPS n hence, a lower valuation. This also applies to all telcos.

Which country is immune to unwinding of QE3 in US? Have we forgotten 1997/1998 Asian crisis? Whether is BN or PH, we are affected. The fact is KLSE prior to GE14 was overvalued.

Nobody is indispensable. My friend, a bank worker, told me the CEO of his bank made this remark some years ago : "in 5 years time, I don't know where Public Bank will be."
Public bank today is going from strength to strength. And this CEO of a GLC was seemingly talking nuts. Just terminate them and make way for other younger ppl who are willing to work for lesser pay.

TM demerged its mobile arm years back to concentrate on fixed line business. Then TM bought over Green Packet and got back into mobile business again, renaming GP as Webe.
Why must a GLC duplicate all these business ? It makes no sense for TM to hop back into mobile business by buying GP which till now is bleeding red ink.
Is it not better for TM to remerge with Axiata ? Of course, all these views are analyst's views as nobody has insider info.
Then, what is the purpose of GLC? Is it not to serve public interest instead of solely maximizing profit. I presume PH as this in mind.

1MDB right for the economy ??? Why we need 1MDB ? Why we need to shift the $$$ into tax havens ? Tax havens are for money laundering.

"Once rm crash, klse will have no value"
A repeat of 1997/1998. Many regreted not having making a big bet on KLSE. After recovery came, ppl were saying they should have sold their houses n dump their $$$ into KLSE.
Well, anything can happen. Do not regret this time. Get ready yr $$$.

When USD was 3.34 agst RM, ppl thought MYR was fantastic. It is the de facto devaluation of USD thru QE3 that brought abt this. Now with unwinding of QE3, expect the opposite.
The whole world is affected.

Singh has give TM some leeway.. cutting broadband prices by 25% instead of 50%.
TM will have to pick up the pieces n should consider merging with Axiata n cutting duplication.

The first signs of something happening occurred in the weeks prior to GE14. EPF having a large holdings of TM sold down TM and it trended below $6.00 and went lower below $5.00. Thereafter EPF have no will to push it back to at least $6.00. I sold at $5.45 making a mere profit of $30.00 after commission for my few thousand shares I had.
Singh highlighted that the revised prices should have come into effect on Jan 1 this year, but that the revised prices were not implemented as Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) had appealed to MCMC to reconsider its position on some of the pricing components.

The first qtr 2018 results for most companies either show a decline or little growth. Most are overvalued.
The KLCI since Jan 2018 was unable to surpass its previous highs making it a double top formation.

Are u sure foreign selling is there? There is not much foreign funds in KLSE n most have already left. Most of the time EPF, ASM etc are the ones pushing the shares up n down.
Maybe, it is the local funds eg. insurance cos, unit trust .. that are selling.

We probably now on the 3rd of wave 5. Below 1700 expected. KLK, U Plt all went up n up since 2009 with no meaningful correction as they are tightly held.

Below 1700 not surprising. It just take a few of those expensive component stocks to dip n u are below 1700. For example, CPO prices all trended down, but KLK did not drop much. Tan Teng Bear has said it is cheaper for him to buy plantation companies listed in London Stock Exchange. At least, when CPO prices went down, those plantation companies also trended down.

Very likely there is not much free float in the market. A few players have already cornered all the free float. The trades are in 100 shares rather than 1000 shares. Petron may be better than Hengyuan but Petron is highly illiquid to trade.

KYY -All I know is that profit from share investment is not taxable and in the history of Malaysia, no one has been tax before. This policy is to encourage Malaysians to invest in the local listed companies to help them make profit and pay more tax.

Trade wars are conjured up by US when they lose the free trade game. They claim it is not fair because China has no unions therefore their wages are cheap etc .....
They say China steal their intellectual property but the truth is many of the foreign joint ventures partners willing share it with the China partners due to the need to use a common platform to do business in China. The joint venture partners in fact made huge profits n never complained.
The other fact is China acquired US technologies due to buying up of technology start-ups that failed to get funding in the US. I do not think this is stealing.
Yes, suddenly the magician waves his wane and the trade war fears ease!
