@RAYDALIO_MALAYSIA don't rate me too highly...
I have my losing bets too, I'm still losing money on Tenaga and Allianz. But no problem I'm holding for their dividends.
Dividend investing is boring. I'm only lucky with Genting and MMC.

@wehcant I agree partly and disagree partly.
My definition of "goreng counter" is stock of company that don't have proven track record, suddenly announce "we got vaccine plan" or "we signed JV/MOU with who and who to do what and what" then the market go goreng it.
MMC does not fit any of the definition above. :)

I might sell off my profit and let my capital ride on. As at today closing I profited 27%.
Janji don't fall back below RM1.00 I'm happy.
I don't want it to fly too fast too! I got i-Sinar money coming, I still want to top up MMC if the yield is still attractive (above 4.0%).

I don't wanna be labelled as KYY 2.0 hahaha

At least another 20% upside before exiting. Buy, or HOLD!!!
2021-03-04 16:11 | Report Abuse
If maintain 4.5 sen, RM1.20 exit price
2021-03-04 16:11 | Report Abuse
@Joker123 port listing don't concern me
I'm only interested in the dividend yield
Last year 4.5 sen
I "THINK" this year might have 1.5 sen + 4.5 sen = 6.0 sen
If my guess is right, exit price is 3.75% yield, i.e. 0.06/0.0375 = RM1.60

@wallstreetrookie a penny stock company that only sees occasional quarterly profit? No thanks.
We prefer stock that we can put in freezer and sleep soundly while enjoying the dividends

Damn, so irresistable to take some profit off!
Anyway not reducing my holding below RM1.20! Reminder to myself! :P

Investment lessons -
You can never catch the bottom. Just be happy to buy NEAR the bottom.
You can never maximise your profit by trying to sell off at the peak, you won't know where is the peak until it starts to reverse. Let your profit run!

Wah geng ah! So early already breached 94 sen
2021-03-04 09:10 | Report Abuse
Just to add one more, no. 3:
Furthermore in my investing experience I learned a lesson - NEVER sell a stock that is still uptrending. Sell only when it is starting to downtrend and
1. You have made enough profit from it
2. You are not very optimistic on the ability of its future profits to inspire further uptrend
3. When you sell, you have other investment ideas to deploy your money. Sell off and place the money in FD/bank? No. If profit outlook is still good, just stay put and wait it out and enjoy the dividends in the meantime

@BULLBULL_BULL aiya, I repeat, I'm a pure FA dividend-focused investor
The only time I see chart is to see where is the artificial "support" points are so as to time my entry. I totally dunno how to read price-volume trend punya...

@SandCoffee
Interim -
Dividend that is announced during the year, usually before full-year accounts are finalised, hence, "interim".
Final -
Dividend that is usually announced after full-year accounts are finalised. After this, no more interim dividends to be paid of of that year's profits.
Special -
Why the word "special"? Let's say a company like MMC, past few years it always pay 4 sen per year. So, it will have created some sort of an "expectation" in shareholders that the 4 sen is to be anticipated out of annual profits. Let's say in 2020, the company got some wonderful profits, which it is not reasonably confident that will recur in the foreseeable future, yet it intends to reward its shareholders with more dividend. So, it might declare 4 sen "ordinary" dividend and a "special" dividend of 2 sen, total 6 sen dividend.
But, if the next few years, management feels that 6 sen a year dividend is sustainable, they might decide to raise ordinary dividend to 6 sen a year.
Ordinary dividend creates expectation.
"Special" dividend is a way of telling shareholders, "This is only one-off, please don't expect it to recur ya..."

A bad company MAY BE a good investment
It's all about the entry price!

I believe a listed company is under no obligation to declare dividend, and if any, by any particular date.
It's all board of directors' prerogative.

@Tobby +100
I would prefer directors to reward shareholders by returning the excess cash as dividends than to go fight short sellers by doing share buybacks.
If your stock is really quality, the short sellers will tergigit diri sendiri, because other investors will come eat up their selling, knowing that this is a dividend/cash cow stock.

Covid-19 is supposed to end in 2022 or latest 2023 (my wild guess).
Give you guys an analogy.
Buying into glove stocks now is like buying Mercedes F1 team but with the FIA freezing development of its chassis and engine.
So, maybe you will still sapu 2021 and 2022 championships, because your current car is damn good.
But, what about 2023? You buy a team that will almost guaranteed to win you 2 championships but with the future beyond 2022 murky?

@wehcant TP/exit price of RM1.20's yield of 3.75% also comparable to Westport's too
2021-03-03 10:26 | Report Abuse

My targeted yield 3.75%

Don't be overly optimistic la. MMC borrowings so high, I'd rather they maintain 4.5 sen divvy then pare down some borrowings.
