Question: Please provide the status of each ongoing legal case.

Answer: The latest status of the legal dispute between Star Media Group Bhd and JAKS Resources Bhd over a land development in Section 13, Petaling Jaya, has been sent back to the High Court for trial. The Federal Court dismissed Star Media’s appeal against the 2021 Court of Appeal decision, which reversed a 2020 High Court summary judgment. The trial is scheduled for August 25, 2025, and Star Media must pay RM150,000 in costs to JAKS Resources.

Notwithstanding the above, we hope to settle the case amicably out of court.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Company (“Board”), RHB Investment Bank Berhad wishes to announce that the Company had on 9 July 2024 submitted an application to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Securities”) to vary its application for an extension of time until 31 December 2024 for the Company to submit its regularisation plan to Bursa Securities. Notwithstanding that, the Board wishes to highlight that the Board endeavours to submit a regularisation plan to Bursa Securities by 30 August 2024 and that the Company together with its advisers are working closely to achieve the target submission date. For clarity, the Company has applied for additional time to submit its regularisation plan to cater for any contingencies that may cause a delay in the submission of its regularisation plan beyond the targeted submission date.

Answer: The option to exercise the purchase of additional 10% shareholdings in JHDP has expired. The main objective for the Group is to focus on our core businesses, mainly Construction and Power & Energy

JAKS Solar Nibong Tebal (JAKS Solar), a wholly-owned subsidiary of JAKS Resources, obtained a RM112.5 million (US$26.5 million) financing facility from AmBank Islamic in March 2022 as part of a multilateral financing facility worth RM220 million (US$51.82 million).

AmBank Islamic provided the Islamic portion of the facilities while United Overseas Bank (UOB) provided conventional facilities worth RM125 million (US$29.44 million).
