7210, your point is valid. But I hold a more positive view on oil & gas sector.

On macro view,

Too low the oil price is bad for economy, too high the oil price bad for consumers. USD 70 to USD 80 per barrel is probably the range that going to stay for long time. Donald Trump and Saudi will continue to drive the oil price within this range, i suppose. You already see what happened in saudi when they don't cooperate with trump to maintain the oil price.

On micro view,

Malaysia is going to depends a lot on oil money in next 2 to 3 years, i am expecting a lot of business activity will be carried out to make sure the oil money continue to fund malaysia budget.

On Company View,

If you have notice for the past 3 years, whether you like it or not, and also no matter how high or low of crude oil price, frontken oil and gas sector has been:

1) loosing money in indonesia,
2) deteriorating profit for philipines

Perhaps this is the nature of engineering servicing line. The customers still have to maintain minimum activity to keep some machine running no matter how low the oil price is.

3) for malaysia, Q2 and Q3 i see a steady operating profit of RM 1.5 mil for each quarter. This is approximately 7.6% from the total registered operating profit. If it turn red next quarter, i suppose the impact is minimal.


Based on above perspective, i still classified oil & gas sector of frontken in winter to early spring. It will only get better or at least stay flat.

And it should not impact frontken like it did in 2014. The tanjung pin project really a big missed and was really holly shit!!!

Everybody run for life, MrOTB also kena hammer left right up down. At the end, left few ikan bilis like us still tracking the company.

Is a pleasant experience anyway.

basically iphone unit growth is not my concern. the unit stay flat is good enough for me. with growth is bonus to gtronic. the fact is there is still some minor growth in latest quarter result. that is already bonus.

By the way, based on yesterday night last quarter resukt, Apple missed Iphone shipments by 1.3 mil unit.

According to them, this will the last quarter the company will release no of units sold for all their products. CFO mentioned , it's a change in reporting method.
Guess this will impact on future computations and estimates.

I think is fair to focus on things that we can control.i.e. numbers. Things beyond control i.e. market fear, should not hinder the decision making process. It make the decision in-efficient.

Have you calculated how much it has slowed? vs Gtronic light sensor growth?

I'm referring to total iphone X vs total iphone xr, xs, xs max, ipad

I'm looking at gtronic sensor loading grow at 100% for total 12 months. Will apple iphone slow by 50%?
