Magnum shares, no have at the moment but I hold some BJToto shares.

the illegal betting outlets have been "flourishing" for some time now ..... unless it is tackled decisively, I am afraid things will only get worse for the legal outlets.... no, I am not buying but will do so if there is even a slightest hint of the authorities' interest in tackling illegal betting outlets. By the way, we don't know also whether these outlets also got "connections" and if so, who dares to lift their fingers ?

Of course, there must be a "will" on the part of the authorities to enforce the law since these are all illegal outlets collecting bets that should rightly be placed with the 3 legal operators. Once a few punters have their faces posted in newspapers etc, others will be "scared" of the shame it brings to they and their families ...... with the passage of time and continuous enforcements by the police, not only BJtoto but also Magnum will see increased revenues/profits and most importantly there will be increase in tax revenues (legal and "clean") : a happy situation indeed !

cheap is relative .... right now there is decreased earnings, absence of dividends plus a horrendous tax bill from none other than Uncle himself ..... Assuming there is no success in appealing against this tax bill, what is there to hope for if you buy it "so called cheap" now ? I urge caution !

@ BinoCaka, take with a pinch of salt your so called "insider news" ....... CMY is already a substantial shareholder and if he is buying, he will have to declare. So far, nothing ! Furthermore, we can see who is who in term of long-term investor by looking at the recent 50,168,876 new MBSB Shares pursuant to the Dividend Reinvestment Plan. EPF had announced on 17 June that it acquired another 48,205,975 shares as a result of accepting the Dividend Reinvestment out of the total issued and allotted 50,168,876 new MBSB Shares pursuant to the Dividend Reinvestment Plan (“New MBSB Shares”) but CMY's camp is all quiet i.e. he took cash dividend ..... therefor unlike EPF, CMY not likely the big gobbler of OR or mother share (your leaky "insider news") : I could be wrong though !

@murali, I tend to think the same as you that upon listing there will be "downward selling pressure"; but more importantly if the OR does remain weak at 9 sens and below, then holding it will mean being "forced" to cough up another 59 sens per share to subscribe for the new shares which are likely to face "downward selling pressure upon listing" - on balance, it may be better to cash out now since it is now more than obvious that even the big boys are not "gobbling" it up (if it so good, I can't see why not)
