Petronm is a good company in its own right. Finally it has moved out of HY's shadown :)

Both HY and Petronm have their own merits, just pick the one that suits your criteria. One should invest with his/her own judgement, not blindly follows "superstar" ;)

Well KYY come or not doesn't really matter. Many companies perform without his money ;)

I think many people have misunderstood Petronm: -
1. Petronm dont own all the petrol stations. I couldnt get the official figures, but davidtslim's first article says it's 55 - 60%.
2. Petronm have two biz segments (again I couldn't find the official figures, will calculate based on assumption) - Retail (petrol station) and Commercial (product for industry players in aviation, manufacturing, construction, etc). According to AR2016, the commercial segment biz also grew a lot after securing new major accounts.
3. Based on AR2016 notes to account, RM1.6b sales are to the related party, while RM5.9b sales are to third parties. Related party sales is mainly related to sales of fuel to petrol station owned by its sister company.
Let's say Petronm owns 55% of the total petrol station, we can assume that total sales from retail segment could be around RM3.6b (100/45xRM1.6b), which is about half of the total sales. In other words, both Retail and Commercial each contributes about half of Petronm biz.
Outlook
Retail segment - remain positive as more Petron petrol sations are being set up, and increasing market share due to stronger branding.
Commercial segment - even more positive due to high growth rates reported in sectors like aviation, manufacturing, and construction.
So I think outlook remains very bullish for Petronm :)

With estimated FY17 EPS of RM1.41, simple PE valuation @ 8x - 12x will give rise to TP of RM11.28 - RM16.92 :)

Hengyuan appears to be better among the two refineries due to it's cheaper in absolute value, as well as bigger operation.
However, for those who have bigger risk appetite, dont forget to look at Petron's warrant - Petronm-cc. Good leverage :)

Depending on next month quarterly result. If the Taiwan subsidiary continues to report high growth in profit, then 50c is only one - two months away :)

Good pick. Fundamentally OKA is good as well :)
What about Frontkn that you shared this morning? Do you have any TP for it?

Similar players in this sector are BP Plastic, SLP, or Scientex (has property division).
In term of share price I believe none of them (except Scientex) had performed well for the past one year.

I think the management has talked a lot about the outlook, the new prod lines will only start in September. And Kenanga has upgraded their TP to RM5+ after the latest quarterly result.
The management has already done what they can in expanding the business operation. No body likes to wait, but that's exactly what it requires now :)

I doubt so. They should have taken the 60mil settlement into account when they did the assessment for impairment. Since all the announcements were made on the same date, it cant be making two set of adjustments at two different periods.
YiStock The impairment registered in FY2016. Then the 60 mil will registered as other gain in FY 2017?

If the prospectus is anything to go by, 6.5% div yield (in 6 months time) for FYE June 2017 seems like a better alternative compared to FD.

It's obvious the M&A is bail out in disguise. And most of us (the EPF contributors) are already on the boat even without buying the shares. Better invest elsewhere if you have spare money.

Pintaras was a very good selection indeed. Despite having a tough FY2016, the management was still committed to give out dividends, in fact it was higher than previous year somemore.

Sharon, I bought RGB months ago because I think it worth about 0.25 - 0.28 based on June 2016 results. I shared my view and agree with Spencer88 analysis (posted on August 2016). Only a few people commented on this thread at that time, and most of them find RGB as "conman" stock.
Why do you think so many people appear out of sudden and say it worth > 0.30 and yet no one disagree? You got to learn how to assess yourself, there are not many 'sincere sifu' out there :)

KESM - meagre dividend yield despite huge war chest, a lot of its cash was spent on capex and acquiring more of its subsidiary in 2014-2015. Many forumers also question on the seemingly high director fees back then. Share price was eventually double this year.
PADINI - share price at one point drop below RM1.50 last year due to stiff competition from new entrants (H&M and Uniqlo). However the biz continues generate good cash flow and allows high dividend payout. Share price eventually shoot to RM3 this year.
Therefore I believe both strategies could work for shareholders in long term. Question is can you ignore the noises and focus on the fundamental of the company and its intrinsic value? Just my 2 cents :)

Could be as RGB deal with slot machines placed in casino. Do note that the government has their shares at many of the casinos, will they disturb the casinos also?
That's the 'risk' one has to figure out before buying into RGB's growth story :)

Indeed from earning point of view RGB doesnt appear to be undervalued. But its ability of churning good cash flow make it quite attractive to me :)

Sleepy, I want to be conservative when making assumptions. I took the lowest FCF (RM28m) in past few years and discount it with high discount rate (12%) because RGB is small cap and involves in regulated (risky?) industry. Cash yield is FCF / Market Cap.
Anyway, these are just my assumptions :)
2016-10-12 12:09 | Report Abuse
What makes RGB attractive now is its ability to generate decent Free Cash Flow. It had alrdy generate RM29m in first half of FY2016.
FCF for FY2013 - FY2015 were ranging from RM28m - RM30m a year, >10% cash yield for the past 3 years.
Assuming average FCF is RM28m a year, 3% growth rate, 12% discount rate, and half of the current cash balance as excess cash - RM35m, RGB's intrinsic value (using DCF valuation) is about RM0.27.
