If fgv can close above its 200 sma which is at 1.94 bu this week, then very good

Goods news from EU last week. The court of appeal rule out no-palm oil label which is deemed discrimanotory. And they are open to MSPO to be fully adopted by Malaysia by 2019. This is positive for CPO price and Malaysia as EU is the largest market for Malaysian CPO last year, in excess of RM 10b export.
Also, there is one small article in NST which says Isa Chairmanship is untenable and he may go as early as next week!!!
Let see how things unfold

On Zakaria, who is currently on an indefinite leave of absence at the request of the FGV board, Shahrir says: “As an investor (Felda), I will read on the chairman’s statements in FGV’s recent annual reports.
“The FGV chairman in his statements in the 2015 and 2016 annual reports was full of praise for Zakaria for his efforts particularly in turning around Delima Oil Products Sdn Bhd as well as strict cost-cutting measures to improve the overall operations of FGV.”
FGV Chairman cakap tak serupa bikin?

Too many issues and dissatisfactions among ppl currently due to 1MDB, Felda etc.
If pendek can be kicked out this time, at least that will bring back some support to
the PM.
That may prove to be the easiest, fastest and cheapest way of gaining the support from the ppl that matters most in the next election i.e felda settlers

I speculate the news will be out after market close tomorrow. So ppl can digest over the weekend.
Depending on the news, maybe got one last push next week before ppl start raya holiday.

Its between survival of pendek vs survival of Umno and the ruling government.
They are cornered to take a stand. GE is around the corner... so not much option

“Nobody from FGV has come forward. I believe they don’t understand corporate governance, so we don’t know what is happening.

Wahh.... Idris Jala took less than a week to complete a report...
Doesnt look like a complicated issue to solve after all.....
What could be the outcome of the report?
Dismissal is fair and follow company procedure or otherwise?
Hmmmm......

FGV clearly management issue.
The previous Felda Chaiman was Raja Muhammad Alias. He left felda with billions in cash in the company.
Now, he is the Chairman of KLK. And KLK has made stellar profit again and again.
FGV has enormous potential. Just need a capable and credible caretaker.

Today is the day Shahrir meeting the PM
2017-06-13 23:16 | Report Abuse
The Edge mentioned 3 potential candidate for FGV CEO:
1) Datuk Azhar (ex MRT Corp CEO) - frontrunner
2) TS Bakke Salleh (Sime Darby)
3) Tan Sri Ismee (ex Tabung Haji CEO) - dark horse
Buying is quite heavy in the first 2 hrs today. Maybe smart money knows
ahead of the public

@gcke.....given the right people with the right level of experience and integrity, it may still be a workable option. Shahrir is not a bad option either owing to his prior experience with MPOB.
Of course the ultimate solution is to have an FGV Chairman who comes from corporate background.

TS Shahrir is adamant wanting to have 3 Felda reps in the board.
Even in the worst case scenario where Z out and Isa still in, things
will never be the same for Isa as the Felda reps will be the eyes and
ears for TS Shahrir.
Whichever u cut it, Isa can be considered a spent force for now

Feels like he commit something that has to be delivered.
A statement that will be closely watch until the upcoming GE14.

To me if FGV can reclaim to 1.95 before raya is good enough.
After raya, need new catalyst to bring investor confidence i.e :
1) New Chairman
2) New CEO
3) Appontment of 3 Felda reps into FGV
Thereafter needs another catalyst to take it higher i.e:
1) new shareholder/new partner
2) earnings recovery (including MSM)

Given the right management team and good governance..... this counter has a lot of potential.
Revenues in excess of 15 b annually. If can get a margin of say 10%, nett profit in excess of 1 billion yearly is not impossible.
Currently, this counter should be close to its bottom already, if not already at its bottom.
For long term investor, risk reward is compelling to slowly invest in this counter

Hopefully the appointment of Idris Jala will stabilize the share price in the immediate term.
To be honest, I feel overwhelmed with what happened in the past 2 days:
Forced leave---- MACC---- Appointment of Idris Jala. FGV must mean something important to the Gov isnt it?

Do you guys seriously think Isa and BOD has strong case against Zakaria?
What if MACC clears him of any wrongdoing?
If the Safitex late payment issue is the sole reason for all this drama, I would think otherwise.

Mr Market has punished FGV share price ever since the failed board meeting to oust Dato Zakaria on 31st May 2017.
With Dato Zakaria's defiance letter today, hopefully Mr Market will react positively to boost FGVs share price. That certainly will be a morale booster to the Dato Zakaria's camp.
2017-06-05 23:09 | Report Abuse
TS Shahrir should be more powerful than TS Isa by virtue of being Felda Chairman. After all, Felda is holding controlling stake in FGV.
The fact that TS Isa failed to convinced FGV board to oust Dato Zakaria may prove the limited influence/power that he has in FGV currently. Good to know Dato Zakaria is adamant not to surrender and quit as instructed (as per his letter published today).
Looks to me TS Shahrir are more aligned to Dato Zakaria on how FGV should be managed (i.e cost cutting, cut unnecessary expenses etc). We may be subjected to more volatility ahead as the drama unfolds. Just my 2 cents

Hope to have a good closure to this drama once and for all

Raw sugar price drop below 14 now. If it stays this way, MSM should report good profit coming quarter right? And FGVs 51% share of profit should be higher right?
2017-05-29 22:32 | Report Abuse
This quarter report will be the first full quarter since TS Shahrir takeover as Felda Chairman.....
This quarter will also be the first after CEO Zakaria said "worst is over"......
This quarter report is also when CPO price is at its highest in over 5 yrs (average RM 3000)....
This quarter will also be the first quarter in the much anticipated election year.....
Looks like too much at stake to screw up this time....
All the best to all who put their money in FGV....!!! Hope our patience will be rewarded.....!!!!
