Wow man, some regret is indeed kicking in. RM0.73 is an even better bargain. Lucky for everyone that has been able to buy in at these low levels. Q2 2017 results should be out this week or the next. All the best.

What's the outlook for week ahead? RM3.40-RM3.45 possible?
2017-07-23 22:42 | Report Abuse
MMHE should be reporting their Q2 results sometime this week or the next. Here's to hoping for something decent, especially in terms of orderbook replenishment from small contracts (above and beyond the Bokor job).

@Save, Tenaga management doesn't give a rats damn about the call warrants (structured warrants).

Secretly hoping this call fall to ~RM0.58 so that I can buy in again.

Agree Jon, I bought ESC when I was just starting out...looking back, this was my "worst" buy as I actually overpaid for it. Like you said, so many other "cheaper" companies out there. Alas, I learned my lesson here. It's still a good growth company, but like I said, I overpaid for it. As such, I am very tempted to just exit and forget I ever made the purchase, haha.

Is today's flying thanks to another Hong Leong report reaffirming that the groups expansion and value-add is on track?

I think NP should be easily RM2bil. Funds will go crazy and Tenaga price will be driven up to RM15.50 in no time. If NP is at RM2.3bil++, then expect a rally to RM16. Historically Q2 is a weak quarter. Previously year Q3 very strong, strongest ever quarter, that's why electricity output down in March and April. But it picked back up in May...so can we match last year Q3 results?
Ash, kits nantikan. Results will be out sometime between tomorrow and next Friday.

I hope this is an actual rise, not just goreng goreNg. CIMB Principal major stock holdings all rose today. Could just be them injecting more in Hevea.
2017-07-20 19:21 | Report Abuse
But today was a good day for my portfolio, ESC up by 10% and Hevea by 6%.

Jon, I've seen you around. You should be smarter than to know that what happened today is what we call "churning". I am definitely tempted to sell (even at a loss) cause I find it hard to believe that ESCeramics could deliver the expectations. But then again Esceramics is the smallest part of my portfolio (on a cost and M/V basis), and the glove industry in Malaysia is expected to grow (in terms of raw output) 10% p.a. over the next 5 years...so maybe I just let it roll. Huh...tough times. Gotta make a decision. What I guarantee though is that if it hits RM0.48 before the results are out, I would have sold (I already queue there).

"It is the darkest before dawn".
I got in at RM1.82...anyone who can buy in at RM1.75 should be even luckier!
It is in the deepest pits of hopelessness that hope emerges once more.
If you have studied Graham, Buffet and Lynch, then you know that this is a stock that screams "BUY". Of course, provided you have a long investment horizon and the patience and fortitude to believe in your picks.

Calm down sir. There is a big chance this will surprise on the downside. If it drops after quarterly result out, wait to buy in at 32 Sen.

I do however envy those who bought in at RM0.755 today, at a 4.5% discount to my entry price of RM0.775. Who's to say though...it could go lower, and be a better buy the lower it goes. You need to have that believe, otherwise it may seem foolish to buy into a stock that has been trending nowhere but down (aside from the excitement in April over the Bokor award).
Do you hold any MMHE shares? What was your entry price?
2017-07-19 19:58 | Report Abuse
Yeah, this is pretty good. I will top up every 10% it drops, so at RM0.70 I will double my capital in this. I'm playing the long game...this is not gonna ruffle my feathers! :)

Guys, some serious discussion now, just a month away from next Qtr report. How many actual malls does Parkson own, and how many do they operate? Any idea?
Is the Maju Junction mall owned by them, or they just operate it only? The Lion Qingdao Mall...it's listed as Parkson's property and on their balance sheet, but then why the name is Lion?

@DollyChai, see my comments on this website on other counters.
In May, the final choice was between Hevea and Prolexus. Based on my risk analysis, I chose Hevea.
In June, the final choice was between Tan Chong and Prolexus. Again, I did a risk analysis and chose Tan Chong.
In July, the final choice was between MMHE and Prolexus. I was very tempted to get Prolexus this time, as it had met my buy-in price, but on the whole I saw MMHE as a fatter pitch.
So now I relegate Prolexus to August. I will monitor and top-up Tan Chong/MMHE if needed, but likely Prolexus will be a buy if it remains at the current price levels. Another company I am studying at the moment which might prove to be the better buy depending on circumstances is Asia File.
I hope you understand my logic. Prolexus does not exist in a vacuum. My final investment decisions are always made when comparing two good prospective options.

Well Dolly_Chai, what better way to achieve better margin of safety than to BE PATIENT? As long as there are no immediate re-rating catalysts, what's the hurry? Besides, this is not the only stock on my watchlist. I believe I will buy it, someday. Just not yet. I figured this time round it would be better for me to buy MMHE.
To me, being patient pays off. Monitor 10 stocks. Buy the one with immediate catalyst. Wait for the others to go much lower. So far it's a good strategy for me. Look at my comments on MMHE forum on this website from 2 months ago to see how I was patient and waited, and bought at my target price.
You think it's luck, I don't think it's luck. The opportunities that pass...I let them go. But the opportunities that do present themselves...those are the fat pitches. You need to understand the relationship between risk, probabilities and statistics to see what I am doing.

No catalysts, earnings will be terrible this/next week. Share price to trend towards RM1 as people sell property counters, which have risen this year far ahead of fundamentals. Property market to only recover H2 2018 at earliest. Hold your horses and wait for a better bargain.

For those who are invested in Prolexus, I have some questions to ask and I hope you'd be willing to share with the rest of us.
1) When and at what price did you first buy in to Hevea?
2) Have you added to or reduced your positions once the price tanked after the quarterly report?
3) How long do you presume the share price weakness to last? Is this the bottom in your opinion, or do you foresee it going lower still in the coming weeks?
4) Do you still believe in the Prolexus growth plan? When do you foresee a positive turnaround in terms of topline and bottomline?
Thanks!
PS: Just wanna gauge the opinion of Prolexus investors on this forum.

Its true, but what I meant was don't just use EPF transactions as your basis to buy/sell. They visit management once a year for a small company like Prolexus. And yes, even discounting GLCs, EPF is more often "wrong" than "correct" with their investment ideas.

From Q2 actually, since we will likely see RMxx million reversed (previously conservatively written down as impairment payment for Kraken delivery failure). In Q3 it should start earning 50-80% of its bare-boat charter rate, and it should hit 100% by Q4.

Just based on pure gut feelings, I think it should be a good quarter, almost like last year or even surpass it. Hopefully I can then exit at or above my entry price of RM0.465. Otherwise I just have to hold it longer.
Glove production is at the highest levels ever in Malaysia, so I will be very surprised if Esceramics is not able to capture this surge in their topline and bottomline.

If you read analyst reports, the rally in the Bursa property stocks (based on KL Property Index) is unjustified/premature given that the property market slowdown is due to extend into mid 2018 at the earliest. Initially at the end of last year analysts were saying that the bottom/through will be this year, hence that led to buying interest in property stocks. However, it is now clear that we have NOT hit the bottom yet...the slowdown will persist till mid 2018 at the earliest, maybe even extend into 2019.
Given that, I fully expect most property stocks to slowly recede 10-15% from their current levels.
Tambun is maybe a unique stock cause it has full exposure to Penang, very high ROEs in spite of the downturn, and an extremely healthy balance sheet with the catalyst of significant landbanking exercises in the near term. But still...unless there are any catalysts, and especially if revenue/profits drop off a cliff like Hua Yang, it's best to wait a while more, let the property stocks drop, and then get in.
Initially my target was to come in at RM1.42, but now given what I have been reading and listening to people talk, I will only buy Tambun at ~RM1.25. Patience is a virtue. Never rush unless you are certain of a near term catalyst to drive the share price higher.

Skliew, EPF is not a god. They were selling Bumi Armada at 0.60 and buying at 0.80. They don't have any more information than you and I do (generally). They do not get insider information. They have one annual meeting with management, that's it. Everything else they read in the media, read from sell-side analyst recommendations, and do their own in-house buy side research. They attend AGM. They scrutinize financials.
EPF returns are generally not great, heck they actually lag the market returns in aggregate. So WhyTF are you looking at EPF for guidance? To comfort yourself?
Also the director buying may be a good sign...but go see Tan Chong Motors...the director has been buying for FOUR YEARS and all the while the stock price has trended downwards. The Prlexus director probably "buys" more shares when he exercises his ESOS, this may just be a small vote of confidence in his company to the market.
-----------
All I am saying is, Prolexus may be a good buy at these levels, but don't try to use EPF as a justification that buying in now is good. They're on average the worst fund manager in Malaysia (compared to PNB and all the unit trust companies).
