nick_ck, only applies when the fundamentals haven't changed. Let us not cheer yet, results will weigh heavily on the price tomorrow

We will need to study the causes of AA's atrocious 3 day share performance. Was it shorties, was it market manipulators, or was it senseless retailers fleeing for the exits?

Actually I think Tony likes to hype the stocks too much. It's not good. Today, before etc...he should not speak about stock price at all. It's unethical, even if he means well.

So what's it at now? Positive or negative momentum?

The fire can only be stopped with decent results. Alas, now I wish AA results below RM300mil so the price can just crash and I can buy more at less than RM2.40, then wait 6 months for the inevitable resurgence.

Please update with opening price. Market direction today will likely depend on it pre-AGM

Whoever mention about Hevea above...it's core business is no longer particleboard already. Particle board is now its secondary business - the main earnings driver is their RTA (ready to assemble) furniture segment. In other words, Hevea is a homegrown Ikea, with decent products to boot.
So going forward as Hevea builds more RTA factories and diversifies their product range, you can't compare Evergreen with Hevea anymore as their core businesses are different.

Well I wanted to sell at RM3.56...I did not. I then told myself I sell at RM3.40 on the downside. I failed to stick to my plan.
In the end I take this as a lesson learned. Painful lesson. Thankfully I am still green as I bought at RM2.67.
To me as for now, fundamentals have not changed. But if Q1 results are REALLY bad (below RM300mil) and there is no forthcoming news about any corporate exercise, I sell first thing on Friday morning and then buy back at a lower price.

Not sure what I should be looking for...

To those going for the Hevea AGM, please ask/clarify about two things:
1) When is the particleboard Line 3 coming online...and how much extra production in the near term and how much further expansion possible with this new line.
2) When will the RTA facility in the adjacent land be ready...and what would the initial and eventual terminal production capacity?

Lol Specter as you can see from my previous comments I have contributed.
But it's a question I am throwing out there...is Hevea at max growth? I want to know what others think. Sometimes I may be looking at things from one angle only.

To me, if the stock hits RM0.60 I will buy it a second time. One month ago I must say I had doubts, but seeing PRGL's performance and balance sheet improvement has me confident that we're at a turning point right now, and things can only get better.
So sell down tomorrow, breach RM0.60, and I will double up my position. (I bought at RM0.64 in early April).
2017-05-24 18:44 | Report Abuse
Are you guys ok? How to not be red? We already know PRGL and PRA results. Net is a red. But it is a lighter red than the whole of last year, highest revenue than the whole of last year...this is what you call a plausible turning point. We're likely at rock bottom right now. The company can't sink further - it can only go up. To abandon the stock now is rather absurd. But humans will keep on being humans. Alas, such is the nature.

Tony might not sleep now lah, three days it's one of AirAsia's darkest share price performance, that too right before the AGM. It was supposed to be a happy occasion just this past Monday morning...now, not so much.

Holy wow this is unlike anything I have ever seen before...
2017-05-24 13:26 | Report Abuse
What are the catalysts for Hevea further growth? Is there a danger that this is their "max"? Or can they do better?

I personally think even without AAC the share price can/should hit RM4 no issue. To me more important is ROE....keep it above 5% please...!!!

I mean in my short life as an investor this is the first time I am seeing a herd driven sell-off in my holdings...so it's an eye-opener (not to mention interesting!) for me.

Look at CIMB forecast for AA and AAX from February. AA at RM3.73 while AAX was at RM0.17 (now upgraded! to RM0.25). So it's clear these are two very different animals. This is market overreaction at the finest. What changed in three days, from RM3.56 to RM3.04? Nothing!

At the end of the day, it's the public that sells in a panic, institutions are obliging to collect.

RainT, refer to past results. AA is more resilient. Look at Q2-Q3 2016 for recent example.
2017-05-24 09:45 | Report Abuse
Airasia has dropped 12% from its top. AAX also 12%. What's the sense? I mean I am looking at more figures from the past and it's clear the cost structure is different.
Did Mohsin Aziz back up why invest in AA but hold on AAX?

Please guys, what does Mohsin of Maybank say with regards to AA and AAX in the BFM snippet?
2017-05-24 08:47 | Report Abuse
"May bank Mohsin Aziz might be right on AA and AAX"
Meaning? What does he say? I can't hear it.
2017-05-24 08:39 | Report Abuse
Dylan you can't extrapolate by that way. EPS in Q2 and Q3 will almost certainly be lower due to seasonal factors.
2017-05-23 23:56 | Report Abuse
I don't know, the AAX results have kinda shaken me. Analysts were all dead certain that AAX will post stellar results...they were almost more upbeat about AAX vs AA. So yeah, just that.

Can someone PLEASE confirm dilution will end soon? How many warrants were on offer, and how many remain? Surely, not all will get exercised right?

Also Q2 2017 it's very likely avg price of oil is lower than Q2 2016.
Aiyh, I better stop fretting over this. Tomorrow have to look forward to how Hevea performs. And need to worry about Ikhmas results as well.
PS: Usually results out at lunchtime or evening for AA?
2017-05-23 23:15 | Report Abuse
@edkfc, yeah this is indeed making me nervously excited! Currently AirAsia is only making up 6% of my portfolio, by right it doesn't matter much but I consider it to be a pride of our country.
To me when you look at AA Q1 2017 ops stats, it seems better than AAX. I mean average stage length is -5%, which should be a positive as far as fuel is concerned.
My prediction is RM350mil on the lower end, and RM500mil on the higher end. Anything less than RM300mil and we shall see a mass exodus till about RM2.50-RM2.80. Above RM400mil and we may trend back to RM3.50. If above RM480mil we march to RM4.00!
2017-05-23 23:09 | Report Abuse
Actually, after analyzing the AirAsia vs AAX income statement, there are many differences in their earnings structure. RM350mil seems quite possible for AA this quarter.

So will we get AAC news at AGM, OR NOT? I mean dude, we was waiting so long. Tony is a player lah...the other day he hype Tune Protect before their results out. Turned out it was terrible results. He's a snake oil salesman, is all.

Read the report again. There is only 200 something acres left, and due to complete by 2022. That's one reason Tambun is trading at a discount, cause after 2022 then what? The company since 2013 say it wants to increase landbank. Soon property prices recover, land won't be cheap anymore. They don't have much of a window left.
2017-05-23 22:39 | Report Abuse
Q1 2017 double whammy is oil price up and USD up. Going forward oil price will trend higher, but USD is lower...so it might cancel off a bit there.
Anyway I have decided to stay put. We might see 20% fall from the top of RM3.59...then an uptrend from that point. I already missed my chance to sell earlier, I'll now just hold it. AirAsia was my second share ever purchased, and I have much to learn. The earlier, the better.
2017-05-23 22:13 | Report Abuse
What do you guys think? Are AAX's results a harbinger of what's the come with AA? Or do you think AA will remain resilient as it has in the past, much unlike AAX?
2017-05-23 21:47 | Report Abuse
Patience. The downtrend can last for a month or two. There are no catalysts, but with this kind of a balance sheet and profit margins....eventually Tambun Indah will hit gold. I can see it double/triple by 2020, but it does need some strong catalysts.
Penang MTP can be a catalysts. New landbank (Penang or outside) will be a catalyst. Improvement in real estate sentiment also good.
2017-05-23 21:31 | Report Abuse
I mean if I buy at RM2.67 and sell at RM3.20 tomorrow (with RM0.12 dividend)...do you think it is dishonorable? Or should I just be happy and find opportunities elsewhere? Is it shameful to sell now, when I could have sold at RM3.55++?

Guys, come on. Please respond. What is the Other (loss)/gain of (22,251)?
2017-05-23 21:03 | Report Abuse
How can profit around RM800mil? Doesn't make sense. Most likely profits around RM300mil-RM500mil. RM400mil and above should be satisfactory. If things are REALLY BAD, then even below RM200mil.
2017-05-23 20:49 | Report Abuse
If you look at AA vs AAX Q1-Q4 2016, you can clearly see AA has much more resilient earnings. So to just go based on this and assume AA will be sold off tomorrow is premature. Nobody expects Q1 2016 earnings to be repeated. That's why the stock is trading at a P/E of 5.3 since it has been priced in. To me, simple story is ROE of 5% will be considered a success, ROE of 4% might be acceptable (but will result in a small price drop)...however anything below ROE of 4% will spark a sell-off.
