Lol you can't just delist if it is not making money. For many years PRA was profitable (albeit with declining profits). It just so happened PRA was listed right before the e-Commerce revolution.

You underestimate the impatience of mankind. Patience, is a virtue. If not here, then a bargain is to be had elsewhere, if only you were to wait.

Look, Parkson Bhd is a holding company with two listed subsidiaries - PRGL for their China operations, and PRA for their ASEAN operations.

PRA has suffered losses and will likely continue suffering losses. It has failed to innovate. Parkson is a strong brand in Malaysia to some extent, but it is losing badly in Indochina and Indonesia. PRA has got not many notable assets.

PRGL meanwhile started to decline before PRA due to the competitive e-Commerce scene in China. Their decline started in 2013. So in these past 4 years management has been able to implement turnaround measures to diversify away from the core departmental store business. This is unlike PRA where the decline has started later and turnaround as such could come later (i.e. next year).

PRGL has managed to get costs under control. It has got multiple billion dollar yuan fixed assets in strategic locations. It has diversified into owning and operating malls, grocery stores and creating theme-based malls. It owns exclusive rights to hundreds of international apparel/cosmetic brands. And it could be a takeover target or JV partner for an online retailer or e-Commerce giant who wants a better on-the-ground presence.

So yeah PRA will bleed a bit more, but PRGL seems to have the worst behind it. It won't fly, but it won't drop any further. HKD0.61 lowest, it's now maintaining at HKD1.07 after the results came out. China economy is finally growing at a faster pace YoY again.

I think Parkson is now kinda stuck in between. China has stopped heavy losses...it now needs to return to strong profitability and perhaps then we can finally see Parkson Bhd share price rising.

I personally think the AAC sale is not fully priced in. AA is rising due to improved fundamentals and performance that exceeds expectations. Also, for the future hope of Vietnam/China/Cambodia. Indonesia listing is now impossible. AAC possible delay. ASEAN listing likely taken off. Only thing that seems realistic is the listing of PAA on the PSX.

Headline GDP growth at 5.6% YoY, beating all analyst expectations. Hang in there boys, the party's just got started! Bursa was in terminal decline for 3 years but we're now in the beginning of a bullish cycle. Should/could last us another 2-3 years. Buy undervalued stocks, hold them, don't get too attached, sell them...rinse and repeat. Have long holding periods. Good luck!

Hevea is inherently cyclical. You can't hold it forever. A time to sell will come. Don't get overly attached to the company. And at some point in the future you will buy it again. To me Malaysia's most havoc cyclical stock is Press Metals. Make sure you buy it when it hits 0.8X BV in the next 3-5 years!

That idea to me sounds way better than listing the group in HK or SG. I support a secondary (TopGlove)/dual(IHH) listing abroad, but only if the AA Group remains listed on Bursa Malaysia.

I will support merging of AAX and AA into one gigantic listing in Bursa Malaysia (encompassing ALL AirAsia operations). I will also support a separate spinoff of the Malaysian unit. So we have MAA and AA Group. Separately list every unit when possible in their home market.

How stupid. Successful twice before doesn't mean will successful again. Doing things like this is madness. Evaluate the company, not the individual holding its shares.

2017-05-18 23:41 | Report Abuse

Oh and by the way, it is NOT a dual listing. It is a SEPARATE listing of the ASEAN/Asian holding co that will become detached from AirAsia Bhd. AirAsia Bhd will remain listed as the Malaysian operations only.

Come on lah, are you so blinded by short term gains to see that dual listing will be worse off in the long term? Don't be so greedy man.

Rowie, come on lah. Tak kan you want me give disclaimer every time? It's understood on a forum people are sharing their own info based on their research (or worse still, spreading baseless rumours). If you ask me for more info, I won't necessarily want to hand you that info. Search online. Search everywhere around you. You will understand where MHB stands, and when a plausible turnaround can come, what contracts have been tendered, when said tendered contracts are due to be awarded etc.

Will I be correct/accurate in my judgement? Probably not. I may miss the boat and by the time I decide to act the share price might have run up. But the beauty of my analysis is that I am NOT RUSHING. I can wait. I monitor a certain number of stocks that are either underpriced relative to their growth, or are strong companies with depressed valuations. I wait for the price to go down further to protect my short-term downside, and I wait until such a time when a turnaround is near so that my holding period can be minimized. I can buy MHB today at RM0.95 and wait 2 yrs for the stock to hit RM2.00, or I can buy MHB at RM0.90 in August 2017 and reach RM2.00 21 months later. Now I could be wrong for MHB, but like I said I monitor a number of other strong companies so I just need to be patient, wait for that one company, and go all in. Rinse and repeat.

Yeah I mean I am keeping tabs on a few companies. 4 company are on my serious watchlist...I just need to wait for one or two of them to drop further. Or if Tambun is still around RM1.50 at year's end I could get it as the time horizon for it jumping in value closes.

All in all, I take into account the time horizon and short-term protection on the downside when I choose my investment targets. I feel I can hold out and wait for a better deal in one or both aspects, with regards to Tambun Indah.

Looks like their departmental store business declined but it's offset by better performance from their mall revenues. I did an online survey among Qingdao residents and apparently the Lion City Mall is considered a high end mall. You can see the photos online yourself. This mall is likely by itself worth RMB2bil-3bil.

Dammit man, rights issues are a nightmare. Stock price will always suffer (even when adjusted for the dilution). Tell me when ever has the adjusted price gone higher after a rights issue announcement? People always hate it, and rightly so.

Alas, best time to buy is when rights issue is just about completed (or just buy the OR). That's when the adjusted price is at it's lowest point.

@firehawk, I will have to agree with the so-called expert. In 3 years time, I can almost certainly guarantee that you could make at least 50% on MMHE. It's at a depressed valuation. I don't know why he deleted his posts...he'd have been proven right in 3 years time!

Anyway, I am holding out for a better deal. I think this can still drop to RM0.75-RM0.85. No hurry. It's not going anywhere anytime soon. New deals will only come in Q12018.

At the moment don't think about quarters and earnings. Those only matter once P/BV goes above 1.0X. Now execute Sterling III and Kraken and we should get to P/BV of 1.0X...then we can start talking about earnings and quarterly results.
