Yeah have been in Latin America for quite a while. The JV in Mexico is to push the markets within proximity even further I believe. Good move though. I'd say the management has great insights and long term view. Go where people don't usually go.
2019-04-18 12:41 | Report Abuse
Yeah it's to expand capacity true. But lots of obvious choices in ASEAN alone, but management chose the JV in Mexico. There must be good reasons to do so, so far away. Logistics costs alone will be a nightmare. I believe it's to penetrate the central America and Latin America market, which are mostly still in the lower ranks of development. Many of them are much underdeveloped, thus less potential to go for well known brands. Hopefully all will turn out well.
Johotin is a hidden gem indeed.
2019-04-18 12:03 | Report Abuse
From what I see at the moment, been following for two three years, Johotin is avoiding the fight with the big consume giants and go where the market has lots of growth potential. Doing really well at the moment.
2019-04-18 11:55 | Report Abuse
Mengniu and Yili Group are two of the biggest consumer companies in the world. Hard to fight them in China, thus Johotin's Mexico and Latin America thrust. Hopefully it penetrates deeper into Africa too. Both continents with huge market growth potential.

Love BIMB too but couldn't get it cheaper. RHB doing quite well too.

Don't be a cry baby just coz you lost in AA and them want to shut people down from posting here.

Don't dare answer? Hello? I'm not in front of my phone or pc all day long unlike you.
Just say it. 1.3 is fine. I'm so okay with it. It's a public space. It's your opinion. Nothing wrong.
Just say all you want. And I can say all I want. We are not a communist country where people cannot simply say what they want, even in the cyberspace. Grow up.
At least I say things and present them logically.

What are you even trying to say? So only can post here in AA and not elsewhere? Wow. Wow. Wow. What loss of money? You lost? LOL happy for you.
And now bringing god in ROFL hahahahahaha.

People are accusing me of being a part of a syndicate or an investment banker. Bullocks.
I'm giving you facts. And reported news that are published for everyone to read. How am I, a tiny little ant, capable of controlling the market? Come on. What logic is that from such lowly people here?
Be rationale. And read the news. Don't read selectively. Don't read only good news to syok sendiri. Read everything and make your investment decision wisely.

Are you even an investor? Buy expensive instead of cheap? Really? Wow.
2019-04-18 09:34 | Report Abuse
Who doesn't want cheap bargain? It's stupid not to buy on weakness and negativity when it comes to a solid, growth stock.
2019-04-18 09:30 | Report Abuse
Unlike some people, I have lots of counters. I have AA. I have Johotin, been adding too. I have others. Just because I said it's worth buying Johotin doesn't mean that I don't have AA anymore.
Again, what a retard. Unlike some people, most proper investors don't put all eggs in one basket.
2019-04-18 08:53 | Report Abuse
Really worth buying if it gets cheaper from all the negatives.
2019-04-17 23:22 | Report Abuse
Been thinking that way. But it has gone on like that since post-GE14. Only getting worse now. If the downgrade by Russells on government bonds happen, the bad sentiment will cause more splash effects, and then more will dump even more.

Still waiting for 2.3++ to happen. Haven't really topped up.

I agree. Vietnam is an extremely tough market. Good that AA doesn't go in. Focus on strengthening digital and logistics across ASEAN and those two will power the growth for the next five years.

Something is definitely coming but marco-wise KLSE tak habis2 negative. It's like foreigners can't stop selling and keep flame bad news.

It's a decent one. Parking here since I got cheaper.

You guys here only want to hear good news. Bad news all are fake for you huh? Live in your own cocoon then.
2019-04-17 14:51 | Report Abuse
While it's bond, any negative news gonna be bad for KLSE. Foreign outflow have been going on for months. Not the best news to see right now. Retail people gonna get panic and start going bananas.
2019-04-17 14:50 | Report Abuse
Talk bad? Read the news. Unwanted panic very soon gonna hit.

Brace for more foreign outflow very soon. Malaysia market gone case liao.
2019-04-17 14:26 | Report Abuse
More foreign outflow is expected for the new few weeks. Good luck.

Down again haha. False breakout.
2019-04-17 11:11 | Report Abuse
One of the problems with Malaysia and KLSE, I believe could be down to the fact that foreigners are moving their money elsewhere and the US as there are better opportunities. Look at most of the bluechips, funds and institutions have been dumping continuously for the past few months. Those with solid fundamentals have not been spared by the selldown.

That's why I said it has nothing to do with ECRL.
China economy is slowing down, that's a fact. But stocks recovered because the slowdown was not as severe as feared/expected.
On top of that, the positive feel good factor that returned could be down to the yet-to-be-concluded trade deal. Everyone is now thinking that a deal could be reached, but that is a BIG IF. Could go either way with that unpredictable Trump.
That said, I do agree that tourist numbers will slowly recover, that is a sure thing, sooner or later.
2019-04-17 09:52 | Report Abuse
Even Resort World Sentosa in Singapore is struggling as Chinese tourists numbers (I believe account for more than half of the total) have declined. It's not only Malaysia.
2019-04-17 09:51 | Report Abuse
It's not as simple as that. Chinese tourists numbers are down not because of thawing ties between both countries.
It's the sentiment in China. Consumption and spending by their middle class have been slowing down because of the fears of economic slowdown in China.

Q1 most probably won't be pretty since Tony already stopped bragging bout it.
Q1 will also be important as it will show the progress of the other businesses ex airlines, which I believe won't contribute much yet, maybe a little bit here and there from logistics.
Otherwise, really could go either way. Q4 might be the real show, but that said Q2 and Q3 are usually what people call the bad seasons for airlines.
Going long with AA anyway as the others in my portfolio. KLSE is just terrible this year. Sniping HK-listed China ones is way better than going for those O&G goreng.

So a net cash, cash rich company is in debt? Seriously?
2019-04-16 20:19 | Report Abuse
In debt you mean? Look at its cash pile. Cash in hand.

Cannot tahan all the clones.
As much as I hate the leasing cost projected increase (very likely), I believe if management can get the digital to pump more revenue in as fast as possible, those will likely offset the fear.
But then, Q1 might still disappoint IMO. I'm looking beyond that, doesn't really matter since KLSE is also incredibly underperforming now anyway.

How to be overvalued when AA is only valued on its airlines business. Digital, logistics and the rest are not even valued in yet.
Read up why Warren Buffet loves banks and payment processing companies. BigPay has the potential to grow into something like PayPal and Square in the next five years.
Red Cargo might even outgrow some of the smaller local logistics companies if everything goes well.
And AA is trying to clone Traveloka too internally instead of acquiring an overvalued existing startup/unicorn.

People don't realise how hard it is to establish a brand and scale up operations. Talk is easy. Try and start and business as a new entrant and experience it. And economies of scale is also crucial.

New competitors that enter the market need time to eat up market share. Not say straight start business will straight get customers. Might take two three or five years to really compete with AirAsia.
FIrst movers advantage in business is key.
And you won't even have enough planes to go head on. Why worry? Don't be silly and bet on newcomers that will continue to bleed to expand and capture market share. Add in all those marketing and branding expanses.
Good luck.

William Cheng is dishonest, and more like a conman. Look at his business empire. Badly managed, lots of terrible strategic decisions, and slow to act to align the businesses to threats and weaknesses.
