Some Genting promoters predicted an imminent bank collapse in this country a few days ago that would result in bank investors losing all their money. I am having a good laugh today.

I suppose after receiving their share options, Maybank employees would work harder and help the company improve its earnings by over 3.5%.

When investing in bank counters like Maybank, RHB Bank , Public Bank etc, one should take a long term view. I won't sell my RHB Bank shares now irrespective of whatever happens to banks in Europe and the US. RHB Bank has solid earnings since 2010, with highest eps achieved in 2014 at 79.7 sen and the lowest the following year at 24.2 sen. The average eps over the past 13 years was 58.4 sen.

A RM2.9 billion gain on disposal of Miami property works out to a gain of over 70sen a share. I thought Genting would rise by at least 20 to 30 sen a share this morning.

AnInvest's target price for Maybank is RM9.80, not RM8.43. Otherwise it should be a hold call, not a buy call.

CPO price has dropped from over RM6,000 a ton a year ago to just over RM3,500 today. Profit will suffer big drops.

Bank counters are supposed to be the safest investments on Bursa. They really are.

Quickly grab whatever is available before the fire sale is over.

These days, it is even a big problem for MRCB to breach the 35 sen resistance level and stay above that level for a few days.

If the company decides to compensate investors for the loss of dividends in 2020 and 2021 and declares a 26 sen a share final dividend, then it is worthwhile to buy at this price.

Looks like DRP subscription price is going to be less than RM5. It was RM4.97 last time.

I don't invest in Maybank and then pray that luck would be with me. I have 100% faith in my investment. You should pray that PN doesn't win the next GE, meaning your investment is risky. Don't worry about bank failures in Malaysia, let alone Maybank failure. It is a figment of your imagination. Instead worry about Genting, worry when it can earn over 70 sen a share and pays 60 sen a share in dividend yearly.

I bought Maybank at around RM8.50 a share and Genting at RM5.15 just over 3 years ago. To date, Maybank has already paid me RM1.77 a share in dividends and another 30 sen would be paid tomorrow. I disposed of Genting over a year ago for a small loss and switched to Maybank. I don't know how much Genting has rewarded its shareholders but it should be less than 25% of what Maybank pays its shareholders. It should be very obvious to everyone which counter is a better investment.

No bank had failed. It is your warped opinion. Name me one bank in which the shareholders lost all their investments. In fact smaller bank shareholders had been offered prices higher than their banks' net book values.
With political uncertainty and PN gaining support, the riskiest time is to own a casino counter. Banks are very, very unlikely to fail in this country but casinos/gaming outlets can be closed anytime.

MRCB has performed very badly for over 2 years. Its share price has never closed above 40 sen for over a year, its worst performance in over 30 years. Hope it can do better in the coming months.

Trading at a PE of less than 10 and a dividend yield of almost 6%, Eco World Dev is not a bad company to invest in.

There was no bank failure per se in Malaysia during the 1997 financial crisis. After the crisis, Bank Negara directed big banks like MBB to take over/merge with smaller banks so that the merged banks were stronger and more efficient and hence more competitive.

Many investors have already priced in a 25 basis point rate hike. Should this expectation materialize, the market shouldn't be adversely affected. No rate hike would be good for the market.

Doesn't seem like Fed would raise interest rates tonight. Hopefully more upside tomorrow.

IBs issue price calls based on fundamentals but very often some counters shoot up not because of fundamentals but speculative play.
