Any info on PM Securities? If we trade online, do we have to pay commission to REMISER as well? Thanks

@BM Trust, hong leong charge 0.1% only same amount as stamp duty. But it's cash upfront. For your transaction 62,300, bokerage is 62.3 , stamp duty 63 ,clearing fee 18.69.Total charge is 143.99
so you can save about 243

i suggest CIMB clicktrader for best software and execution. they even have a java-free web terminal so you can use on computers without d/ling java. you need to keep a cash balance of above 10,000 to enjoy discount.

they also include Capital IQ and Thomson Reuters reports. No charting software is the biggest downside. thats is why i stil use osk188 charting software, for charts only.

hard to say. all seem to provide decent service. after all, competition is intense. i just use CIMB because it is the most convenient for me. the 8.88 brokerage is decent. broker assigned to me is a very nice lady. always laughing, and very pleasant. no complaints from me.

but also have old account with Maybank Invest and inactive account with OSK. also okay with these two. Maybank Invest has very nice offices, especially the branch in Klang (Menara Trend).

I prefer the n2n plaform to trade. excelforce is okay, but only works in explorer, which sucks for a mac user like me (have to use Oracle Virtual Machine). Charting, OSK is the best because you can get 10 years historical data (fiinancial times - get up to 30 years).

also, one shouldn't be so focused on the cost. the biggest cost is yourself, not the broker. its only you that makes the good/bad investment decisions, therefore it is up to you to do the work, and take responsibility, and not be blaming the broker or the market if things go wrong.

lastly, the more often you trade, the more money you make for Bursa and the Government. not yourself. the costs quickly escalate because of the amount you pay for clearing fees and stamp duty. its is by far the largest transaction cost. NOT the brokerage.

Example:

Buy 3000 Tasek shares @ 16.00

Cost of shares 16.00 x 3000 = $48,000
Brokerage = $8.88 (CIMB Nominee A/C)
Contract Stamp (1 for every $1000) = $48 (Government)
Clearing fee (0.03%) = $14.40 (Bursa)

You can clearly see that contract stamp and clearing fee alone account for 87.5% of the transaction (one-way) cost. 87.5%!

Also, just wanted to offer feedbacks to your website:

1) Your website currently displays these brokerage firms in chronological order (ie. alphanumerically). But I think the best way is it should be arranged by ratings ie. the no. of stars you offer for each firm, which brings me to:
2) In view of plenty of features that our firm has offered currently, I believe our firm deserves a much better rating than 1.5 stars we received. If not so, do let us know why. We are open to discussions
3) This is more of a query: If we are to provide a link to our app download in your website (iMSL@SJenie), is this possible?

I would like to say kudos to your efforts on maintaining such an informative website for investors alike. It is well done and informative. Do keep in touch and let me know the outcome.

Thank you.

I just signed up for Mplus during invest fair 2 weekends ago. Pretty good deal at 0% brokerage upon registering for the first month only and 0.05% for subsequent trades. One of the lowest I think. Have yet to trade on this platform though.

Any hiccups on this broker so far?
