pm is wasting time at UN talking cock, where no one listens to him. There are so many problems to be solved in his own backyard. The people's down-to-earth daily problems and woes are not being attended to and addressed effectively - haphazard parked cars, noisy vehicles and motorbikes, illegal house extentions. Things under bn were badly engineered; but now under ph, they have become worse. No enforcement by local authorities. The police officers are busy escorting VIPs. (Voter 1)
Will Malaysia allow others to come here and give their open views on Islam and our rulers? Free speech, right? Or does this man only go to countries that allow free speech, take advantage of the situation, and spew his venom? (Voter 56)
Show integrity. Be disciplined. Keep promises. Excuses will not solve anything. They will only create more discontent, dissatisfaction and resentment among Sabahans and Sarawakians.(Voter 57)
The leaders in Kuala Lumpur are fond of giving promises and false hopes to the people of Sabah and Sarawak, just to get their support,” he added. Once they get what they want, they will forget about you. This is the story of Sabah in Malaysia. (Jeffrey Kitingan)
Show integrity. Be disciplined. Keep promises. Excuses will not solve anything. They will only create more discontent, dissatisfaction and resentment among Sabahans and Sarawakians.(Voter 58)
A land with almost perfect climate and a second generation that was given opportunities and resources to take it to the next level. Our neighbour, Singapore, grasped that opportunity and see where they are today.
Our leaders from the time, instead of grasping the opportunity, wasted their time and effort on many wrong policies, especially in the area of education.
This. in turn, churned out a generation of people not prepared for the future. They spent too much time on issues that were not benefitting the nation on the whole.
While our neighbours were struggling against all odds to raise the standards of living of their people, we were wasting years after years in this race and religious rhetoric, and arguing who are the actual owners of this nation.(Voter 59)
our politicians are only good at making use of race and religion instead of taking genuine interest and putting full commitment in up-to-date knowledge or inventing enviable state-of-the-art technology.(Voter 60)
Malaysia is trapped in a morass of social/cultural problems and it can't get its act together to move forward and compete with the rest of the world( Voter 61)
In the 50s, Hong Kong was sending maids to the Philippines. By the 80s, the reverse was taking place with the Philippines sending hundreds of thousands of maids to Hong Kong. Malaysia is hell-bent heading in that direction when our workers have to go to Vietnam, Indonesia and Bangladesh to find work in the future. Only millions of elsewhere-unwanted-cum-neither-marketable-nor-competent preachers stay - state sponsored
Malaysian Prime Minister while addressing the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Saturday (28 September) indirectly called India an “invader and occupier” in Kashmir thus drawing a sharp reaction from Indian social media users. Indians now call For Exemplary Action Against Malaysia ( Indian Voter 63)
Muslim nations are not innocent of the very things that Mahathir accuses the West of. It is, after all, no secret that Muslims are oppressed and killed as much by their own governments. (Dennis Ignatius)
It is meaningless if everything is viewed only through the lens of race and religion. We should focus instead on having a candidate capable of serving the people and help the nation to remain relevant in the world map. (Voter 68)
Malaysian new-gen professional should set up a new multiracial political party, free of race and religious strictures, aiming to move the nation economically.(Voter 69)
The people are getting restless because the government is directionless and not paying attention to their problems. The B40, farmers, tappers, fishermen and settlers are suffering. Not only fuel and food prices are high but even medicines in government hospitals.(Voter 70)
Malaysian new-gen professional should set up a new multiracial political party, free of race and religious strictures, aiming to move the nation economically.(Voter 71)
Degeneration — Toxic tribalism sets in motion a process of degeneration as opposed to evolution. People who have this mindset are dying as opposed to growing psychologically. They become angry, bitter and resentful towards everything outside of their tribe.(Voter 72)
“Parents and schools should place great emphasis on the idea that it is all right to be different. Racism and all the other ‘isms’ grow from primitive tribalism, the instinctive hostility against those of another tribe, race, religion, nationality, class or whatever. You are a lucky child if your parents taught you to accept diversity.” (Voter 73)
In various ways we have seen the impact of attitudes of "us" versus "them." It may exist in various forms: On a personal level - racism, bias, snobbery, bullying, ... ; On a group level - segregation, sectarianism, suspicion, demonism, ...;
Often, in tribal societies, inflicting harm against the neighboring tribe is viewed as laudable. Too often, this attitude has carried over to our modern-day societies. The tribal association may be geographic, ethnic, political, economic, etc.
The root cause of many of the problems we face today can be attributed to this modern-day generic tribalism. And once we identify the cause, we are better prepared to ameliorate or overcome it.(Voter 74)
All that exist in this post-industrial, globalised, borderless, and mediated age of cybernetic capitalism is the idea of "post-industrial tribes" that live and thrive on chaos and complexity and on materials and goods produced by local and international capitalists.(Voter 75)
Tanjung Piai by-election will serve as a litmus test for whether Bersatu can claim that it is the voice of the Malays. The by-election is about Bersatu's future. If Bersatu fails in Tanjung Piai, it is a sign that Bersatu cannot be the voice of the Malays. Bersatu's defeat in Tanjung Piai will also weaken its position in Pakatan Harapan. Tg Piai is either Bersatu's confidante or grave (Voter 77)
The ideal case is when everyone stays home and nobody comes out to vote on that day. Hence making all candidates lose their deposit money. That will be a real protest vote. (Voter 81)
What the minorities want are parties that champion national issues that affect them like equality in education, universities, positions at SENIOR govt and national level like AG etc. And not be treated as second class citizens.(Voter 82)
After winning the last general elections, the new government supporters expected lots of reformation and changes. However, they were dissapointed after seeing the old divisive narrative being promoted (Voter 84)
Losing this one seat will not cause the government to fall. I rather lose this seat than lose the next GE. We are telling Harapan not to bagai kacang lupakan kulit and take our votes for granted. (Voter 85)
I am confident that Harapan has the capacity, competency and integrity to transform the country into an economic "tiger", as soon as we reject the final stumbling block to the realisation of 'New Malaysia" which has crashed the hopes of millions voters' hope by pandering selfish lopsided agenda. Piai, vote it out!( Voter 86)
Dear all, Once the Pandora’s Box is opened all hell broke loose. We are now in a dangerous time where politicians from both side of the fences are playing political numbers game by using race and religion cards to fish for votes.
TJ Piai constituency demographics consist of 57% Malay, 42% Chinese and 1% Indian. The contest can be view as: BERSATU (a communal political party for Malay) against MCA (a communal political party for Chinese) (Malay against Chinese) or PH (New Malaysia) against BN (Old Malaysia plus PAS) Voters of TJ Piai are caught between a rock and a hard place. Which way they vote will be views in racial lens and will be subject to many post mortem interpretations.
I would think the best way they can do is just purposely spoil their vote (Cross both PH and BN party symbol with big X) to tell both sides we had carried out our duty to vote but we reject both parties BERSATU and UMNO playing the politic of race.
Choose one who is inclusive in pluralism (good track record of walking his or her talk), and exclusive in characters (free from sinfully being a wolf wearing sheep's clothing) (voter 99)
A candidate who hears nothing from surrounding ppl (immediate or ocean apart), see nothing and non committal to anything of wordly importance is not worth voting for. My two cents (Voter no.100)
Putrajaya must focus on pressing local problems of the poor especiallly farmers and fishermen and the urban poor.
No use attending costly international forums and giving advice or talking big to other countries especiallly when majority of the nations would just disregard Msia being very small nation.
It is a real waste of public funds despicably at a time of depressed economy.(voter 102)
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
