For those drawing salary 5k at age 60, what is the recommended EPF saving?
What about those with 10k, 15k? How much is enough to keep them going till age 80 ?
With CPI increased at 4% per year, to have decent and a meaningful living with dignity, minimum expenses is estimated to be 1k a month, and to add 4% annually.
If EPF Board is sincere enough to help the poor, for the first 300k, give fixed dividend at 8%, the balance pay according to profit it generate during the year. Also to permit EPF withdrawal every month. In this way, it will enable the poor to have at least 1k for living expenses throughout their whole life (I tend to like how CPF Life in Singapore works).
