Police must ask :-
1. What was the item given with positive identification
2, Value of the item
3. Who gave the item
4. To whom it was given
5. Why item was given
6. During what occasion it was given
7. When was it given
8. Where was it given
9. How was it acknowledged
10. When was the giver bought/obtained the item.
11. Where was it bought/obtained.
12. Cost of obtaining the item (show proof).

Important thing is to observe 'Chain of Evidence' from the day item obtained to the day item seized by the police, and to the day item produced in court as evidence.
