Yes, for ‘best companies can make the most profit from it’ and Malaysia is selected by some of these ‘best companies’ according to this article.
For the initial stage, setting up the Data Centre requires a lot of local input benefiting the local companies. How much of this hundred Billion $ is local input? Your guess is as good as mine..
My procurement experience evaluating Hardware and Software for setting up Local Server Room, therefore some knowledge for the comparison. Usually Hardware cost is fixed, but not the Software cost. The Software costing depends on how many ‘seats and licensing TnC’. I got the feeling that ‘Hundred Billion $’ is on ‘seats and licensing TnC’. Most of my Hardware and Software procurement, Software (proprietary Material Take Off/Architecture/Engineering) is around 3 times the cost of Hardware. Some Software at zero cost on installation, but the TnC a minimum seats for a year, Payment annually…costing more than owning the Software; that's how Software Companies make Billions of $?? Just my opinion for a Happy Trading and TradeAtYourOwnRisk
