Hello
Inoculation is on a voluntary basis in malaysia

It doesn't matter Whether pfizer is approved by NPRA earlier or what. Whether people want to use it matters

If not many people want to use pfizer or UK ones, in the end, the government will back off to buy from pfizer or UK ones but swift to the most popular ones...

Hello

Its the choice of the people. You don't speak for the people of Singapore nor do the pm and his cabinet.

No indication of more than half of the Singaporean would accept it..

Vaccine is not applicable to children below 12 years old

Singaporeans are well- known for being afraid of dying and losing hence they will not take the inoculation which is believed to cause side effect

now your friend said msian wont use pfizer vaccine as not a compulsory right. we discuss why other countries already started using pfizer vaccines. Spore is just the nearest nation will start with pfizer vaccine. Msia too will start with pfizer
vaccine soon. who in denial keep saying msian will wait for china vaccines. who emotional and who has no business sense. correct?

KUALA LUMPUR: Special Muzakarah Committee of the National Council for the National Council for the Islamic Religious Affairs has agreed that the use of Covid-19 vaccine is compulsory (wajib) for groups that have been identified by the government and permissible (harus) for others.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri said the decision made by the committee which convened its 10th meeting on Dec 3, also presented its decision to Conference of Rulers.

"I would like to call upon all Malaysians especially the Muslims to adhere (to the decision made by the committee on the use of the Covid-19 vaccine) and give their full trust in the government to help curb the spread the pandemic through the use of the vaccine," Zulkifli said in a statement today.

Why vaccine is not compulsory and abang adik also say it is voluntary basis. of course using vaccine with short period of trial period. abang adik also not sure and cannot force all to take right. later anything wrong all blame the government right. put voluntary at least government not force you to take but behind will say better take it for the benefits to the nation. anyway adik already done the due diligent and approved pfizer vaccine and using it. so abang also will approve it too. why. adik said so abang also can be more dare to follow. adik said benefits outweigh the risks by many times. so abang after study will follow too. Common sense right? Correct?

The government can't have two policies whereby one group is compulsory and next group is voluntary and so on

If it is made compulsory, who is responsible for it if something goes wrong?

There will be indemnity issue. The government is open to consequential claims from its people.

Facts reported from US

There have been several reports of individuals receiving the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) and BioNTech (NASDAQ:BNTX) and experiencing serious allergic reactions.

The advisory panel to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that reviewed Moderna's (NASDAQ:MRNA) coronavirus vaccine focused on the potential for similar reactions.

In this Motley Fool Live video recorded on Dec. 18, 2020, healthcare and cannabis bureau chief Corinne Cardina and Fool.com writer Keith Speights discuss how big of a concern these allergic reactions should be.

Normally it take about few years of clinical trials (5 to 8 )of a new vaccine to be officially approved and sell to individual in market. Therefore there is NO WAY the covid vaccine be allowed to sell in any drug stores before it is officially approved by WHO. Now the vaccine are all temporary approved by various countries because the ependemic is out of control in many countries. Therefore all this vaccine have to be purchased by government and distribute it free to their citizen in order to avoid future legal issue arise from by effect of the vaccine.
Solution will not benefit anything even CanSino got the temporary approval from MOH.
The only word for Solution, Bintai, Hwgb, vivo ,etc etc or all speculate penny stocks is RUN !!!

Pfizer was approved on " emergency " basis by FDA .it is not a final approval so you cant blame FDA for any side effect

The Gov can't make compulsory. If so,who is responsible for it if something goes wrong?

There will be indemnity issue.

Lastest facts

Turkey says China's CoronaVac efficacy 91.25%, likely to increase
Thu, December 24, 2020, 8:52 AM PST·1 min read

ANKARA, Dec 24 (Reuters) - A COVID-19 vaccine developed by China's Sinovac Biotech is 91.25% effective and the rate is likely to increase based on late-stage trial data, Turkish researchers said on Thursday, as the country becomes the second trial site to produce results for the Chinese candidate.

The researchers, part of the government's science council, said no major symptoms were detected during CoronaVac's trials in Turkey, apart from one person who had an allergic reaction.

Turkey had agreed to procure 50 million doses of Sinovac's CoronaVac by Dec. 11 but the shipment had been delayed.

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said the vaccines would arrive in Turkey on Monday, adding that Turkey would vaccinate some 9 million people in the first group, starting with health workers.

FYI,sinovac is sold at USD 60 per 2 doses.

More facts

In recent weeks, a string of vaccine makers including Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca have released promising phase III trial data, injecting the world with hope that the COVID-19 pandemic will come to an end.

On Wednesday, the U.K. became the first western country to approve a vaccine for COVID-19, authorizing Pfizer to distribute its vaccine on an emergency basis to frontline medical workers and other high-risk groups. The U.S. and the European Union are expected to follow suit in coming days or weeks and give vaccine makers the green light to start distributing their candidates.

But amid the optimism, experts have raised some concerns about the accessibility of Pfizer and Moderna’s candidates, which require costly cold-chain distribution mechanisms, and about the quality of the data provided by British vaccine maker AstraZeneca.

Subscribe to Eastworld for weekly insight on what’s dominating business in Asia, delivered free to your inbox

At the same time, China’s two leading vaccine makers—the private Sinovac and state-owned Sinopharm—appear close to rolling out their vaccines in coming weeks with candidates that don’t require expensive cold chain networks.

Western vaccine makers appear to have taken the lead in the global race to produce a vaccine, but Chinese vaccine makers may help fill in the gaps they leave behind.

Data limits
In mid-November, American firms Pfizer and Moderna each announced preliminary trial results for their experimental vaccines indicating that they were over 90% effective in preventing infections of COVID-19. The results far exceeded expectations, given that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said it would require a vaccine to be just 50% effective or better to gain approval.

Still, Pfizer and Moderna’s vaccines are based on newly-developed mRNA technology that requires the candidates to be kept at sub-zero temperatures during shipments. Such temperature restrictions will make it difficult for lower- and middle-income countries to access the vaccines because they will need cold-storage infrastructure to distribute the doses.

In Indonesia, for example, the country’s state-owned vaccine manufacturer Bio Farma said that Indonesia, the world’s fourth-most populous nation, effectively cannot purchase Pfizer’s vaccine given the logistical challenges in distributing it.
