alex foo...blog here already tell u.
Potential Sales

Inventory turnover ratio have been improving since financial year 2017 from Q1 to Q3. However, if this inventory can't be sold, it is worthless to the company. This is unlikely that the management hint that this inventory were high potential sales of the company. Therefore, we should be able to expect a further growth in their coming quarter. If not, why company is spending extra RM3.2Mil in purchasing material?

according to my noob accounting knowledge, potential sales = zero

any company can claim they have potential sales and point to their inventory and said 'you see, this one sure sell one~'

hehe

book to order means your customer come and tell you, i want this machine and that in 3-5 months time, so you only start doing the machine and book into inventory

book to sell means no customer come, you build machines also, and book to inventory, without a sales order yet!

you will only book to sell if you confident of selling your machines! in vis case, they are book to order, means inventory increases is a signal that future sales will increase

Alex Foo, please study back these 8 quarters before. Either is build-to-order or build-to-sale?
You decide it~~ ^^

to make sense, only big companies can do book to sell because they got scale, and can roughly predict their sales, company like vis wont risk to do book to sell, with one machine cost about RM200k to build, no way they will book to sell unless they wanna waste their $$

in this case, only vitrox is capable to do book to sell, the rest are more like customised machines

iPhone disappointment hammers suppliers, fuels Taiwan outflows
http://www.businesstimes.com.sg/technology/iphone-disappointment-hammers-suppliers-fuels-taiwan-outflows

Hon Hai and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, Apple's main chip-maker, together make up a quarter of the Taiex total weighting, while exports account for more than half of the island's gross domestic product.

"Orders of the new IPhone have disappointed the market and foreign investors may continue net selling Taiwan stocks," said Alan Tseng, Taipei-based vice president at Capital Investment Management.
