The Dow dropped over 600 points at one stage Thursday but ended well above session lows. The probability of a 1% rate hike has dropped to 44% from 80% a day earlier.

After so many months of negative news, the performance of global markets these few days seemed to suggest that all the news have more or less being priced in and is looking forward for a better 2H22.

After staying at sideline for the past few months, I have started to buy cautiously since yesterday.

The rich always do the opposite of what the poor think !

@Maverickeking, were the hidden billions of unsecured loans approved by you? You had on several occasions over the past 6 months claimed that Maybank would drop to RM5, can you give us a time frame? You also claimed about half a month ago that recession would hit in 3 months. I am waiting for it to happen in another 2.5 months.

@moneyontheway haha been busy lately due to parenthood at least until the maid comes in. I do monitor the market daily of course. for your info, I think the market will continue to be soft in the short term as a lot of variables affecting sentiment. US Fed hikes leading to outflow of hot money, the occasional C19 spike news, prolonged Russia-Ukraine situation, malaysian economic issues affecting standard of living and of course the local political scene which is still 'fragile'.

I am observing the share prices not only on banking but others like Property, Utilities and Gaming to name a few. Noticed that the lifting of restriction and opening of borders did not seem encouraging as expected. Having said that my gut tells me that the dip has not ended yet for almost all counters.

Also, take note that when IBs tells you a stock is positive and uptrend or otherwise, do take with a pinch of salt and evaluate yourself. I sense that the way foreign investors are viewing how we run our economy, things will drop further by year end before it gets any better. but thats just my personal views.

I would on the other hand rather sit back and relax and see how this all plays out before tying up my money further and seeing more possible paper loss.
