Jangan mimpi Maybank akan jatuh ke RM5.80. Kounter ni mempunyai sokongan padu daripada institusi tempatan besar

Bear is taking a nap, but i think maybank still worth keeping for dividen earner.

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2022-06-28 10:26 | Report Abuse

"Maka, RM 5.80 adalah hakikat."
To reach RM5.80 a share, Maybank has to drop by another 33% from today's level. Assuming the other component stocks of KLCI also drop by the same margin (some with higher PEs may drop more), the Index may drop to around 950 points. All other stocks listed on Bursa would be badly battered. We should be in bad recession,1US$ could be worth RM5, 1Sing$ could be worth RM4. Just use a little bit of your brain to think.

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2022-06-28 10:40 | Report Abuse

To all Maybank detractors, just name me another counter listed on Bursa Malaysia which has a PE of around 12, a dividend yield of over 6% and which has consistently paid dividend of over 55 sen a share for over a decade. Cowards if you can't.

Political bank only serves its master -the elite class even if it has no fundamental basis . GE 15 has no effect as foreign investors are no where to be seen.

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2022-06-28 20:41 | Report Abuse

Whoever it serves is not important to me as long as it is able to continue paying me over 50 sen a share dividend every year. It has already done this for over a decade and will likely continue to do so.

Under the current sustained high inflation scenario, we believe investors should seek refuge in stocks of companies with strong pricing power. We acknowledge that these are rare in our market, but we believe there are no lack of “near-proxies” for pricing power, which we define as “companies that are able to maintain their margins despite the rising cost pressures”.

• We see them in: (1) Service-based industries that have kept wage pressures at bay, i.e. Banks
Our Overall Top Picks are MAYBANK......etc

Looking ahead, investors eyeing good dividend stocks should consider companies with improving and stable earnings prospects, especially those companies with recurring income.

Going into the second half of 2022, both Imran and Fortress Capital’s Yong recommend banking stocks for investors looking for good dividend yields.

Describing banking stock dividends as “attractive”, Yong says the banking sector will benefit from an early interest rate hike cycle.

“Investors with lower risk appetite may also consider some telecommunications and utility stocks with defensive earnings,” according to him.

Imran says banks such as Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) and Affin Bank Bhd are “worth looking at”, although he adds that these are not strictly dividend stocks.

“Banks provide steady dividends and there may be an upside potential given that the economy is recovering,” he says.
MIDF Research has a “buy” call on Maybank .

The next upcoming recession whether in end -2023 or early-2024, if the gomen don't want to let Maybank to drop to RM5.80. OK la worst case when all global stocks waterfall time, let's say Maybank drop at lowest RM7.00 like in year 2020 and bound back to RM9++. U only get capital appreciation 25%++. Compared to US big4 banking stocks u have 80%-100% capital appreciation in 1-2 years from market crash.

Flip-flop government policy
Instability politics, frog politicians.. everyone want to be PM
Over-qualified ministers holding gomen portfolio...janji gaji masuk
Bursa don't have valued companies? Got, u look at TOP glove share price. Who is shorting the price behind all this drop?
Cukai makmur? 51 share? Old man say something to other countries and we suffer as a result of boycott?

Bank stocks are more stable than others. Don't lump them together with other counters which may drop by more than 50%. Many may drop by over 90%.
