@sharefisher, l am referring to taxable income not gross income. It is a rough estimate. 9% is 33 - 24.Correct me if l m wrong.

I think 90% of Malaysian companies don't kena this one off makmur tax as most of them don't have taxable income of more than RM100m. After deducting the incentives and allowances it will be even less. It might hit big corporations a bit..

Share price is a result of financial performance - results as well as numerous others factors including sentiment, mkt conditions, and the list goes on and on.....

So, there is no perfect answer for each specific situation. Whoever who knows all will become a billionaire and won't be here in the forum.

Philipines = 30%

Japan = 29.74%

South Korea = 27.50%

China = 25%

Indonesia = 25%

Myanmar = 25%

Taiwan = 20%

Thailand = 20%

Vietnam = 20%

Brunei = 18.50%

Singapore = 17%

Hong Kong =16.50%

Macau = 12%

as i say before , at least drop 20pts opening and it will drop more when second half opening.

but i do strong believe it will not drop > 40pct and most of the bank share price will be covered a bit at the end of the day and recover some tomorrow and after tomorrow.

that is so-called the knee-jerk reaction.

A new tax requires the input of stakeholders..once approved it is announced. Those who needed to know knew long ago..
So...the sellers are panicky retailers and non stakeholder funds...
Good opportunity for big boys to add on...
If u have funds buy more and hold..
There is lot of room in the income of public bank...
U can see from earnings to amount paid as dividends.
I feel sorry for those who sell...n if u do..buy back before it goes up..
