D main reason is d paid-up capital or net worth or total equity as in business sense. Magnum needs 3 times more capital to earn 300M. Which one is more efficient, use more capital or less capital? Debt to equity is poor tool to judge. Anyway Bjtoto growth is below 5%, not much growth in term of book value.

95% of investors n fund or money managers will buy on good news phenomenon n sell on bad news phenomenon. People will just follow or got this herd mentality, panic selling until crazy undervalue or optimistic buying until unreasonable overvalue. U should do the opposite, be patient n be discipline. Do your homework, be a business analyst n check which company has above average ROE of !2% for at least 5 years in Bursa!

when the analysts said the prospects are bad , I think it will be the right time to slowly pick up , coz usually the bad time will turn out to be very good in the next quarter by virtue of financial reports generated the figures based on comparisons between the bad and good quarters in cyclical nature. More so , in the gambling section , the earnings r there only the figures of making counts...Follow Warren Buffet way of investing, good time sell bad time buy is the right motto..

Today's increase is exceptional. It cannot be due to the dividend as it would have been priced in on the following day of the announcement. Furthermore the dividend (cash + shares) is 5 sen only. The spike today is way more than the dividend. Could it be due to something else?

div only 2.5c and share div 1:140 but the adjustment is too excessive @ more than 20c difference..... Previous div was 5-6c but now is only half or less than half...No more div guaranteed !

During the div announcement, the share price was around RM3.10, so the 'real' div given is 2.5c(cash div) + 2.2c(share div) = 4.7c. From my point of view, there are only 2 obvious drawbacks of this 'share div': (1) it was computed using RM3.50/share. (2) would end up with some odd lots. There is not much remaining treasury shares, so I trust it will be back to 5c of cash div next quarter.

Bjtoto, earnings are always erratic, that is why the share price also erratic, not much capital gains, unless u want a decent dividend yield. But investing is more about growth prospect and capital appreciation. If u think it's not okay for u, then just sell, and find a company that has a EPS upward trend, every year.

In the foreseeable future, BJToto most likely will pay the net div ab RM0.05/share each quarter. So, the net div for whole year should be around RM0.20(already deducted all taxes), in case you bought BJToto at RM3.05/share, that is equivalent to the net DY of 6.56%.
