Ring KUALA LUMPUR: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia (FBM) KLCI futures contracts (FKLI) on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives are expected trade firmer next week, in line with the cash market.

Affin Investment Bank vice-president and head of retail research Dr Nazri Khan Adam Khan anticipated the FBM KLCI to trend higher alongside with its peers, amid the strengthening of the ringgit against the US dollar.

"There should be more upside momentum following a strong reversal over the past week where FBM KLCI punched through above the 1,860 level to a new one-week high following a series of negative raft of global economic data," he told Bernama.

He said the upside penetration of the FBM KLCI to close above the psychological resistance of 1,850 and 1,860 levels would open up further upside possibilities of a new leg towards the 1,880 level over the medium-term.
