"Meanwhile, Alliance Bank Bhd maintained its second position, outpacing its larger-cap peers with an overall score of 3.85. The SME-focused banking group has the second-smallest market cap among the country's listed banks. It scored the best in terms of deposits to funding with a score of 0.15. Joel Kornreich was appointed Alliance Bank group CEO on Jan 1, 2015."

Obviously not convinced. SImple logic like i said many times, WHO WOULD WANT TO BANK WITH ABMB?

The only time somebody would bank with them is when they THROW PRICES!

Now...Think...firstly who would want to deposit with them? secondly, how did they calculate the deposit? Is it average deposit on a monthly or quarterly basis? OR...Deposit outstanding as at end of reporting quarter/year?????

It is well known that tiny banks like ABMB often throw prices to large corporates for deposits which would cross reporting quarter/year to SHOW THAT THEY HAVE STRONG DEPOSITS.

Question, if a bank's loan portfolio mix starts to deteriorate(Personal and SMEs??), would large corporates still put deposit (lend to the bank)??? Would the bank have a stable and strong and "EFFICIENT" funding still in this case? ;)

I may be wrong, but researchers definitely need to look into this before churning such reports.

no idea what kind of breakout are you talking about. The only breakout u will ever get is pimple breakout due to stress when ABMB continues to tank. There is no upside catalyst for this counter.

like i said, their concentration of loan is on SME and profiles which cant get loan from other banks.

look at the article i just shared above, that is only one of it. When the economy starts to slow further, u will see how it starts to hit them further.

i really dont understand. Just click on financials tab. Go to net profit. Please tell me at which time they reported a NP of 76 million for that quarter? As far as i can see, they have not reported such a low profit, not even since 2010.

KLCI up, S&P 500 up. ABMB barely nudged. In fact edging lower. What cannot go up when its broad risk is up, then u should only know how it will react when broad risk starts to turn.

What makes you think LDN biscuit has been factored in?

Just put yourself in the bank's employee's position. If you know this year no matter how hard you work to meet your target, yet the bank as a whole is not gonna perform well, do you think you will push hard to meet targets this year?

Dont forget, this is only first quarter. You try hard to exceed your target, if you can meet, your bonus will be poor, because bank as a whole not performing. Worse still, because you exceeded your target this year. Your next year's budget will be based on an increment on top of WHAT YOU HAVE ACHIEVED this year, and not your this years budget. Think la ADUH

Considering the full three-month impact from May 2019’s overnight policy rate (OPR) cut, second quarter of FY20’s (2QFY20) NIM would be affected the most. However, in the following quarter, it should recover, since 66% of its non-Casa (current account and savings account) deposits are due for maturity within six months (calculated from March 2019 onwards) and will be repriced downwards.
