PUCHONG: George Kent (M) Bhd, whose share price has slumped 67% since the general election, this morning received shareholders' nod for its share buyback exercise of up to 10% of its share capital.

The company was quick to get approval for the share buyback plan at an EGM today instead of waiting for its AGM on July 9.

However, George Kent declined to meet the press after the meeting.

shares buyback means burning Retained Earnings-----if Gkent got so many "projects", Co. cash
got better used then to support Stock price-----Look at different angle, more like preventing Margin
Call for Directors ( ikan Bilis can get what???)

在全国大选後股价狂泻的乔治肯特（GKENT 3204）今日召开特别股东大会（EGM），获得股东批准，可以从市场回购已发行股份的10%。

乔治肯特特大通过这项议案後，市场正面回应，截至下午三时卅分，乔治肯特股价回弹6仙至RM1.34，市值为7亿5500万令吉。

丹斯里陈溪福是乔治肯特大股东兼集团主席，陈溪福和前首相拿督斯里纳吉关系密切，更是纳吉的＂GOLF KAKI＂。在纳吉掌政年代，乔治肯特是基建工程大赢家，该公司曾赢得 LRT和MRT工程合约。

五月八日闭市时，乔治肯特股价是RM4.00，岂料五月九日成绩出炉，国阵和纳吉倒台，五月十四日股市在选举後重开，乔治肯特就接连出现跌停板，至今为止，股价跌了三份之二。

它最低触及RM1.12，过去几个交易因为趁低吸购活动，使其股价回弹。

乔治肯特的财务报表属於健康，它每股现金等於82仙，然而由於未来大型基建工程合约不再发出，未来前景成疑。

今日通过的回购股票议案，是该集团管理层应对剧烈改变的对策之一。
