Tan Chong Motor Holdings Bhd has teamed up with China’s GAC Motor International Ltd to look into selling and assembling the latter’s vehicles in Malaysia and Vietnam. It said its wholly-owned subsidiary TC Overseas Assets Holdings Labuan Pte Ltd signed an MoU with GAC today “to study on the potential and feasibility of the business opportunity”.
Nissan Motor says Tan Chong Motor-managed plant in Myanmar resumed operations on Wednesday BANGKOK (Feb 4): Japan's Nissan Motor Co Ltd said its factory in Myanmar had resumed operations on Wednesday, after operations were suspended this week, following a military coup in the Southeast Asian country. On Monday, people were asked to stay at home because the situation was fluid, said Kalle Siebring, Head of Communications at Nissan ASEAN, who said the company had prioritise safety of its employees and partners."Yesterday, indeed operations are back," he said.
I think something big is on going on Tchong, it signed MOU with GAC, while GAC has intention to promote their cars into ASEAN countries, they are also in talk with HUAWEI to develop EV. It is either GAC will take a stake in TChong or it will become sole distributor for GAC, both are good to shareholders!
