To me, it is like Wow then read properly, it is just another plan, another so called partner, another MOU without any real contract and money yet...........
Not sure how hot cake is google cloud plus whether DNEX is the monopoly sole provider in Malaysia..........in simple how much revenue is this bringing in.......if any............
Read the actual press release from dnex lol thats the one endorsed by both google and dnex. Zero financial info there. The $2b mentioned by Reuters is not for dnex - that figure is from a previous Google-related news and is for google to build their data centre. Dnex’s job is to sell the service and bring money to Google.
DNex Partners with Google Cloud to Provide Next-Gen Cloud Services in Malaysia
1. Partnership Agreement: Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNeX) has signed a multi-year agreement with Google Cloud to offer next-generation sovereign cloud services in Malaysia, enabling DNeX to resell Google’s cloud solutions, including Google Cloud Platform and Google Distributed Cloud services.
2. Advanced Technologies: The partnership grants DNeX access to Google’s cutting-edge technologies like AI, Big Data, and Analytics, allowing DNeX to deliver enhanced services and boost market competitiveness.
3. Strategic Focus: The agreement aligns with DNeX’s focus on providing in-country data center services and large-scale digitalization projects for public and private sectors in Malaysia.
4. Security and Compliance: The solutions aim to meet the strict regulatory requirements of Malaysia’s public sector and regulated industries, ensuring digital sovereignty.
Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNeX) has entered into a multi-year agreement with Google Cloud to provide next-generation sovereign cloud services in Malaysia. -> believe the service should covers ASEAN rather than Msia...
Remember this headline from a year ago? : “DNeX partners with Chinese high-tech IT companies for both DNeX and Ajlan to bid for large scale Smart City project in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia“
The key to a sustainable cloud based information system is to have cloud services within its grip... With DNeX securing Google Services as Provider to local, it is at a great advantage to develop and host big information system like NiiSe at much lower cost..
what is cloud services? It is just a giant memory storage bank install on the Ground ( cloud is just marketing gimmick )---My last count there are 10 data Bank in Malaysia ( Google is just one of them ) Competition is very stiff so margin is very small-----so many sui yee
That's why great for those getting in at the lowest point this few weeks but back to dilemma to those old timer whether should they throw out now or collect profit now........
Actually, getting this cloud does not mean anything if you cannot use this to create something out or even anyone buying the system created from this as this is not like end product dealer, if you really into IT. End product dealer means like you are the sole distributor of apple products which your duty is to sell only.
But ok la, share market is to earn profit lol, you take the risk, up then you earn lol, to me, DNEX so far not really for long term holding........once you manage get the so called lowest spot then throw once reach your target....
The partnership with Google will start contributing to DNeX's profit from the second half of 2025 onwards, Hong Leong IB said.
“The potential revenue contribution from this venture remains unclear at this juncture, though we believe DNeX will be paid a percentage of the revenue generated from selling the services,” the research house added.
