The government has agreed to open the tourism sector in several destinations under the ‘travel bubble‘ programme based on a list of conditions.
As reported by Utusan Malaysia, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, for a start, Langkawi Island was chosen as a pilot project to be reopened to local tourists on Malaysia Day, 16 September.
“We are pleased to inform that through the meeting, we agreed to open the tourism sector in several destinations under the “travel bubble” programme based on the conditions set. For a start, Langkawi Island has been selected as a pilot project to reopen to local tourists starting 16 September,” he said.
He added that it would not be long before other tourist destinations will also be a part of this project.

“Other tourist destinations will be allowed to operate when the locality vaccination rate reaches 80%,” he said.

Government should allow Genting casino to open as long as 100% of it's staff are fully vaccinated!
And slowly open up the rest of Genting sectors! So far Genting has a very good track record except for few lawmakers who made noise about allowing casino to continue operating few months back! We know this lawmakers are dumbass!
Even i know illegal casinos are wide open during MCO! Why allow illegal ones to do brick business while legal ones which strictly ban muslim gamblers are punished!

Also we need to remember, if we dont have negative news spreaders in this Genm forum , we wouldnt have managed to buy earlier months in discounted price and as time goes by once Genm goes 4.00 -6.50,, 8.00 and above the negative news spreaders will be naturaly tamed or nuetralized/pacified

Genting is a recovery stock! 1st liner in recovery theme! Looking at current infections rate, it seems alot of improvement since Selangor KL N. Sembilan saw huge drop of late! As for surge in other states, a fast ramp up of mass vaccination should be given top priority!
Mass vaccination does work! The science is there! But cross our fingers everything goes well and true recovery takes place!

My thoughts, Instead of waiting for the whole country, potentially inter state could open earlier for KL, SELANGOR, N9 and Pahang since the borders are connected and ICU cases are low, now waiting for Pahang to achieve 60 percent fully vax since the other 3 states area just waiting for ICU cases to go low. This will help us to start/trial run Interstate slowly while waiting for the rest to vax up.
