Agree @Chinjason & @alextan5680….. PM said wait till 90% adults in this country fully vaccinated, then both domestic tourism & interstate travels can start.

So no need to hve selected travel bubbles as recommended by the Tourism Minister earlier. Guess PM wants to expedite interstate travels & domestic tourism in a safe manner & he wants to be seen fair to all tourist players, not just Tioman, Genting & Melaka …after the successful results from Langkawi travel bubble.

Being Genting investors, normal to expect travel bubble starts on 1st Oct first, then followed by interstate travels expected by mid-October..

Well, nevermind la… Like what most of you said here, just wait till mid-October for the much awaited news :)

So okay! It seems PM wants to see 90% vaccination rate! But that target will official hit in the next 10 days!
So instead of opening on 1st, Genting may have to open for interstate guests on 10th!
But problem is, PM doesn't want to say so! Of course this will affect Genting price tomorrow! The knee jerk reaction of course will happen!

90% vaxxing gonna be useless if country opens up & loosens up restrictions too fast

just look what already happened in US, UK, israel etc.

israel already achieved 14 - 16 cases per day in march, they got overconfident & opened up everything, by september they were back up to 10,000 cases per day

MOTAC reported today in Malay Mail

“The prime minister also said that the government would allow the opening of tourism centres, islands and areas as well as cross state travel provided the country’s adult population vaccination rate reached 90 per cent based on data and analysis conducted by the Ministry of Health (MOH).

“The government will make an official announcement once it has a suitable date,” said Motac.”
