Those who bought at this level, need not worry, downside is limited, anything lower than 1.30 are best buy,so grab this opportunity to accumulate quality high dividend stock and expect possible bonus or splitting as well.

Heve is largest RTA maker in asia with double-digit profit margin growth. Hold it for a year later, your invested capital sure appreciate along with dividends payout every quarter. Accumulated more! 1-2 weeks to go.....

If it can rebound from 1.05 to 1.58 previously, with last quarter record high profit and ever increasing net cash in hand now,I see no reason why it can't rebound this time around,it's a matter of time thing.

If ROE is sustained at 20%++ won't the P/BV catch up eventually...making this stock undervalued?

Guys, is there a timeline for the expansion of the RTA HeveaPac manufacturing facilities? I can't seem to find this info any where.

Similarly, for the third line production facility for the particle board, is there any news on when it is due to be commissioned?

Not for poor people like buckbunny and saltedfish. If no money better go elsewhere invest your small money fund but remember don't pawn your properties to play in stock market...very dangerous can cause u to go bankrupt and divorce. I'm sorry for you buckbunny, have u settle your divorce or alimony commitments?

I am so saddened people put up collateral to effectively gamble on the stock market. Even the biggest pros such as Graham, Buffett and Klarman do not play with margins and collateral. Only invest into the stock market cash that you have/own/possess. So sad to see lives ruined, but they deserve it...nothing else to say. Greed is the downfall of mankind.

My advice to saltedfish is...if u have no sufficient money, better don't play in stock market. Go elsewhere safer to invest suit u better. Amateur lol

Yesterday I went to Giant hypermarket and saw Hevea's products filled the shelves of the RTA department. I bought one of their small cabinet with a drawer costs me RM50 and I inspected it. The quality is very good and sturdy. It's a particleboard constructed materials very fine & hardy but I still haven't assemble it yet.

From what I see, almost 60-70% are Heveapac's products in compact boxes filled Giant's shelves in the RTA department. I asked the staffs and they told me Heveapac RTA product sales are good and re-stocking fast each week from their distribution centre. Citing the affordable pricing and good quality as the 2 main reasons contributing to the good sales. U guys can go and check it out.

@nikicheong - Once the new line is constructed, most likely the BV will catch up.

Here's some tips from me, P/BV isn't necessary a good measure of every stock.
Let's take an example, PBV isn't good in measuring technology companies or direct selling companies, this is because the bulk of their income doesn't necessary generated by assets, as they are assets light.

In Hevea's case, I think PCF is a better measure of it's value.
If you want to invest in BV, you need to check out the what are the compositions, the state of the asset, the depreciation rate, etc.

I just assembled it under 25mins. It's a small cabinet with 1 drawer and it's under Heveapac brand. Some of the RTA items sold in Giant are under Bocowood which is also under Heveaboard but mostly are Heveapac on the shelves.

I'll contact KreaKids and check to see how fast and easy to order their Kreakids products later.

Ezra, in my opinion the branding is becoming more valuable than Book Value alone. So u need to consider that as well and not just tangible values.

Yeah, it's true. But branding falls under moats, and we're discussing on metrics so it's kinda out of the discussion.

If not interested and not confident or no money to invest, I suggest some idiots to park your money elsewhere...Hevea is not for speculators or naysayers. The company is doing very strong business and expanding market presence in more places. More not less.

Just wait and see.... those badmouths actually are those willing to buy Hevea at lower price. Look at today transaction, the operator is collecting at 1.29-1.30 region. If Hevea is really bad, then no need to waste time here to voice. My target this round is at 1.55 region, 2.5 cents dividend is on the way. Estimate annual EPS will stay at 15cents, and with 30% dividend policy will be 5cents of dividend per year, is about 3.8% as per current price 1.30.... company having good cash flow, net hand in hand about 16cents per unit share. USD /MYR still >4.20, Japan Oplympic 2020 is on the way, China new vision of One Belt One Road ......all these event are good to Hevea in future 5 years. So, good or bad just need wait and see.

@Farge168, I just came in today. Queued at lunchtime at RM1.30 and got my order filled at RM1.29. I must say that the impending QTR result did play a role in me coming in to Heveaboard, but it's only because I also have found a relative margin of safety for myself. Sure there I see an element of trying to make large gains in the short term, but I'm in for the long term. So far in my life I have bought six companies...I've not sold out yet. I went through Heveas annual reports, quarterly explanatory statements and news clippings. I looked at their financial situation. I feel comfortable. The risk seems to be a strengthening ringgit, but I think so long it stays above RM4 there should be no issue.

@Ezra, I find book value to be a good measure. I compare it to ROE. When book value lags ROE I see a potential mispriced security. P/BV for Hevea is 1.54 but the ROE is at ~20%. By right if ROE is sustained at 20%, the P/BV should be at ~2.1X.

So yeah that was the preliminary reason I started looking at Hevea. I bought in with the added Catalyst of near term price reversal given that quarter results are around the corner and I think it should be a good one.

nikicheong

Some qualitative aspects that made me invest in Hevea:

- According to 2016Q4 results, Japanese RTA demand peaked later. This means there should be a spillover of excess demand into 2017Q1 relative to same quarter last year.

- In 2016Q2 one of the particle board production line was offline. This means 2017Q2 has a good chance of beating last year profit and revenue.

- In 2017Q2 a third line with extra 10-15% capacity is due to be added for particleboard. Added with the above points this could mean record revenue for 2017Q2.

- Expansion of RTA is underway. Bought new land. Fruits to be seen next year. Could lead to an expansion in ROE

Those are some additional reasons that mad enough me comfortable in investing in Hevea. I intend to stay for the long term but if the market runs ahead of itself and Hevea reaches RM2.20 by year's end I may take profit.

@nikki - It's alright. As the investment adage goes: "Valuation is more of an art than a science". No right or wrong. Different people has different strategy.

Just out of curiosity, I'm trying to understand your thought flow but I don't quite get the logic / calculation behind it. Please let me hear your thoughts about it.

1. I don't understand why would you link ROE with PBV. These are two different thing.
- ROE defines how much company is generating income from it's equity. NPM x AT x FL.
- PBV is how much the current price is measured against it's tangible assets.

One is efficiency ratio, the other is valuation ratio. How does they link?

2. I don't understand why would you want a PBV of 2.1x? In valuation, we want the lower the better. Graham advocates not more than 1.5.
Even ROE is at 20%, if PBV is at 2.1x, it pretty much indicates overvalued.
