The consensus is that high end property has peaked out and this company has huge exposure to high end condos in Penang World city, the most oversupply property segment in Malaysia
Cannot perform in a hot property market then how to perform in a market that will be subjected to plenty to cooling measures later ? An idiot should be able to figure that out
There are no fresh developments in this company. There are other property stocks with much better value than this one unless you keep praying that hot dog will goring it one day. He has been trying to for quite some time but failed.
Let's wait for result by end of month lah. You curse curse curse no use one. If the result is good, share price will be up even if you keep talking bad about it. Conversely if result is bad, no need for you to bad mouth also will go down
for me, I am not expecting this quarter result to be good. I always give the PLC plenty of time, in this case, 3 years to deliver the return. If they manage to deliver earlier, that is a bonus for me. Otherwise, it is no big deal, I more or less expect them to report losses in this quarter and the following few quarters
as for whether they can deliver in 3 years time, nobody knows loh. You bad mouth them also no use.
the positive share price movement lately could be due to fair value gain at Tropicana Ivory (45% owned by Ivory, 55% owned by Tropicana).
In Tropicana's latest quarterly result, there is a RM29m profit contribution from "Jointly Controlled Entity" (revaluation of associate company), which I suspect is Tropicana Ivory Sdn Bhd
If that is true, Ivory's share of the profit would be RM29 / 55 x 45 = RM24m. Based on 450m shares, EPS for this quarter = 5 sen ?
but I could be wrong. Usually development land will not be revalued. Hence the Jointly Controlled Entity might not be Tropicana Ivory Sdn Bhd, could be something else
the above is purely my speculation. Lets wait for the result
according to page 168 of Tropicana annual report 2012, there are two jointly controlled entities (both in property development). One is Tropicana Ivory Sdn Bhd, the other one is Tropicnana Danga Cove Sdn Bhd.
Not sure which one contributed to this latest quarterly result.
