With div 2.34 cents for a bank, it is worth only about 46.8 cents.

Dividend payout is decreasing, next financial year could give no dividend especially with the implementation of Basel III where more impairments are to be recorded especially for new bank loans at the start.

My advice, run away from all bank counters for at least one year. They have to declare more impairments, could be worse than years of 2015-2016.

Dividend of 2.34 sen was when Affin Bank was wholly owned by Affin Holdings. Affin Bank only listed this month and yet to pay any dividend to the public.

Can see VSS was paid to staff that they were more important rather than div for shareholders.

Recent low was 2.38 which was only briefly. 2.40 appears to be strong support. I think recently banking sticks have been re-evaluated upwards because increase in BLR will boost earnings due to time lag in adjusting deposit interest rates.

yup, @hollandking. thats my point.

@thecontrarian and @hollandking,

my pov is that among banking stocks, the one that is the most volatile but with the most potential to fly highest will be ambank.

next will be affin. but as affin is not that strong, the price must drop more b4 some punters will come in to pick on the cheap.

Limited downside risk due to vast safety margin, upside potential if targeted for merger/takeover.
