Takaful financial year for Q4 is on December 2019. It can release the QR within 2 months after end of DEC.

So what do you mean by delay ? Historical release date on Jan doesn't mean it need to release on Jan.

Investors are very sensitive to QR announcement now. Takaful has been announced its QR in Jan for the past 4 years. This year would consider as a delay since it's out of normal. The delay is due to market no good, bad QR or CNY holiday?

Any delay announcement of QR would offer a lot of negative perception to investors since the market is fully clouded with bad news.

Not sure when is the effective date of the MFRS 17 but if not mistaken it should be Jan'2020. So Last Q result will not have much suprises. But moving forward, with the changing of accounting policy of MFRS 17, insurance cannot recognise future earning. Previously if the insurance company sold a policy which insured for 20 yrs, they can capture all the profit earn base on the 20 yrs on current yr. In short, the recognise future profit upfront. With MFRS 17, they can only recognise the current year profit even if the policy is sign for 20 yrs. I think this is the big chances and the upcoming QR, 2020 and beyond does not look pretty. Not sure if i get the MFRS 17 correct....any accountant here?

When result is good, it will be announced prior or on time. When it is bad expect delays. It's a psychological give away.

@WinKlse, if not mistaken, LPI is more towards house, motor insurance or PA which is renewed on yearly basis. Not sure on Alliance products. Those providing insurance such as medical n life insurance will be much affected by MFRS 17 which i think takaful hv alot of product n sales under this segment. Furthermore, MFRS 17 haven start yet but i think market react upfront on the impact. My opinion only but if someone know the actual reason, do share. Tx

Yes, it will be very small impact or no impact, if there is life insurance, they will add in some investment related into the life, 2 years later to comply, still long way and I believe all the new policy will have the investment feature inside life

I'm using RHB house loan. RHB still using Takaful insurance for the coverage from 1/1/2020 to 31/12/2020. The impact of RHB to terminate bancatakaful service by end on July 31. This financial year have no impact for Takaful.

Hi XXX,
Q4 result will be announced on Feb25, tentatively. We have to announce late for this quater onwards as we were instructed by our holding company, BIMB Holding to synchronise our Q4 results announcement with theirs.
