Desmond Lim - a good friend of Najib
Desmond Lim - middle man for Dalian Wanda and Najib.
Since Wanda is new to Malaysia, surely they need someone they comfortable to work with. That is Malton. Malton will combine strength with WCT.
Rumors already confirmed truth that Dalian Wanda has interest in Bandar Baru Malaysia. Who leak the news? I heard it is from China developers in Malaysia that leak the news because people in China Dalian Wanda already shared the news among them in China.

Why Malton denied? Because it is talk between Dalian Wanda and Najib and China Government. Better not to get involve until everything firm up. Also why suddenly Desmond Lim bought over WCT?

Let's separate the facts from fictions:
1. No commitment from Wanda, not even an MOU on Bandar Malaysia even with Najib's visit. Major embarrassment for Najib.
2. Wanda only said they are interested, probably to save Najib from another embarrassment. What do you expect him to say in front of Najib?
3. Malton denied any deal with Wanda & EPF.
4. Approval required from Chinese regulators to send fund overseas. Wanda must resolve this issue first, otherwise may end up like CREC. This will be the major stumbling block for any deal with China.

The shopping mall is located in Dalian and it is developed by Pavilion and not Dalian Wanda. So, the shopping in the link that Canadian Pension fund is buying 40% shares is called Pavilion Dalian Shopping Mall, and has nothing to do with Wanda group. Read carefully or you can google the Pavilion Dalian Shopping Mall to check.

However, since Desmond Lim already ventured into Dalian with Pavilion, chances are very high that he personally knows Wang Jian Lin and has make some arrangements for Bandar Malaysia. Still a positive news though for Malton and WCT.

Must accept the very fact that Desmond Lim always interested in Bandar Baru Malaysia. He failed to JV with Qatar at last minute http://www.thestar.com.my/business/business-news/2015/12/12/tussle-for-bandar-malaysia/

This time, he must find someone that can offer something more attractive and big enough i.e. Wanda

Be logic....... you think Najib dared to kick IWC out without securing everything and anything? I think all already firm up except to what extent to give some pie / sharing to Lim Kang Ho.

If Wanda does not have interest in Pavilion Dalian, you think Wanda will allow Pavlion Dalian to enter Dalian without a fight? Also why Desmond choose Dalian? Why not other place of China since China so big. You think Pavilion can enter Dalian without knowing officers there?

I think najib not only choose the developer but also what type of business bandar Malaysia will do. No wonder epf also want some share since this business will profitable to epf. Korea n Japan Disney land/theme park is full of ppl.

savyinvestor, I share the same view with you and not against your views. I too think everything happened for a reason. Malton's share price dropped from above RM1.00 till RM0.570++, Desmond Lim emerged as the single largest shareholder of WCT, and now Malton share price increased RM1.00/share since last August. All these happened for a reason. And trust me, if Malton can really be part of Bandar Malaysia, I will be laughing to the bank.
