"If the merger is successful with Celcom Digi achieving a reduction in FY22F operating costs by 10%, we estimate that the merged entity’s fair value could reach RM5.06–RM6.21/share, pegged to an FY22F EV/EBITDA of 10x–12x and an ESG premium of 3%. This represents a further upside potential of 13%–39%.
As there is no certainty in the current negotiations, as highlighted by the parties, we have not adjusted our fair value pending the completion of a formal agreement. Hence, if the deal is unsuccessful, the share price could revert to our current fair value of RM4.05/share." From Aminvest.
That is to say from 'Aminvest estimates', Digi at least have RM4.05 if not successful and RM5.06 to RM6.21 if successful. Today closing price RM4.31, upside is more than downside..

Daily buletin

Support 4.12
----------------------------------------------------
Dear friends
Resistant 4.46
Not 4.66. Typo error. Please take note.

The buletin should be
As follows
Resistant 4.46
Closing price 4.31
Support 4.31
Support 4.12

Verdict.
So closing price is 4.31 and support 4.31 is not broken. Have to see 4.66 resistant broken by closing price to confirm uptrend.

i think some ppl may be mistaken by the environment of trading of whether other shares are going downhill, etc.etc... Remember the talk is on merger and if successful, how much is the valuation of Digi for merging, As per Aminvest estimates is around RM5.06 to RM6.21..exact value to be depend on negotiations but roughly is there.

and general acceptance that this merger benefits DIGI the most, and price should appreciate by 20-30% la, from 'normal' value, which suppose to be around 4.00. TP 4.70 consider low.

one thing for sure, DIGI profit margin sure improve a lot from current aroung 20%, (coz reduce opex) let say up to 25%, that itself should provide justification for price going up la.

IMF projects Asia's economy to grow 7.6 pct this year, warns of "huge uncertainty"

(Source: Xinhua| 2021-04-13 23:29:38|Editor: huaxia)

WASHINGTON, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Asia's economy is expected to grow by 7.6 percent this year, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said Tuesday, while warning of "huge uncertainty" surrounding the projections.

"The pandemic has resulted in unprecedented output losses in the Asia-Pacific region," Jonathan D. Ostry, acting director of the IMF's Asia and Pacific Department, said during a virtual news conference.

The pandemic is receding in some countries, elsewhere, "second or third waves of infections are raging," notably in India and some of the ASEAN economies, he noted, referring to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

Noting that divergence is multi-dimensional, namely across countries, and within countries across sectors, age groups, gender and skill level, Ostry said a region known for its trademark growth-with-equity model now runs the risk of "entrenching excessive inequality."

For China, growth has been marked up to 8.4 percent this year due to stronger net exports, reflecting higher global growth and the U.S. fiscal stimulus, according to the IMF.

India, meanwhile, has seen a more sizeable upward revision to 12.5 percent on account of continued normalization of its economy and a more growth-friendly fiscal policy, "but the current surge in infections presents a worrisome downside risk," Ostry said.

He noted that there is huge uncertainty surrounding Asia's projections, highlighting downside risks such as setbacks in vaccine rollouts, questions about the potency of the vaccine against new variants of the disease, and a resurgence of the virus.

The changing external environment is also a central driver of risk in the region, given Asia's outward orientation to trade and capital flows, Ostry said.

"If U.S. yields rise faster than markets expect, or if there is miscommunication about future U.S. monetary policy, adverse spillovers through financial channels and capital outflows, as during the 2013 taper tantrum, could present challenges by compromising macro-financial stability," he said.

Noting that trade has been a powerful driver of growth and poverty alleviation in Asia for decades, Ostry said restrictions that impede trade need to be reduced, and the easing of trade and technology tensions and facilitation of digital trade would provide a welcome boost to growth.

weekly flows ending 9 Apr 2021 from CIMB exerpts :-

Foreign investors were net buyers of Digi and local institutions net buyers of Axiata

Digi was the top net buy stock by foreign institutional investors last week and Axiata was featured among their top five net sell stocks.

It was the reverse for local institutional investors, where Axiata featured as second highest net buy stock. Retail investors were key sellers of Digi.

CEO of world’s largest money manager: ‘I am incredibly bullish’ on the stock market

(PUBLISHED THU, APR 15 20218:48 AM EDTUPDATED THU, APR 15 202111:44 AM EDT)

~ BlackRock CEO Larry Fink noted that a host of factors are likely to propel markets higher in the near term, even as the S&P 500 and the Dow hover near record levels.

~ “I believe because of monetary stimulus, fiscal stimulus, the cash on the sidelines, earnings, the markets are OK. Markets are going to continue to be stronger,” he predicted.

BlackRock CEO Larry Fink said Thursday he’s optimistic about financial markets as the economy attempts to recover from the coronavirus pandemic.

“I am incredibly bullish on the markets,” Fink said in an interview on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” He noted that a host of factors are likely to propel markets higher in the near term, even as the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average hover near record levels.

“I believe because of monetary stimulus, fiscal stimulus, the cash on the sidelines, earnings, the markets are OK. Markets are going to continue to be stronger,” said the co-founder and chairman of the world’s largest asset manager.

“A big reason why there’s so much cash sitting on the sidelines during Covid and during remote working our behaviors have changed dramatically,” Fink explained, noting the amount of money many commuters are saving by not going into work.

“Whether the money is coming from a stimulus check or is coming from savings or behavior changes for savings, I think it’s fantastic that we’re seeing more people either investing for the long term or even trading,” he added.

Fink also commented on BlackRock’s institutional client base, which includes pensions funds, saying climate change and inflation risk are bigger concerns to them than cryptocurrencies.

Fink on Covid vaccines, budget deficits

The BlackRock CEO cautioned near-term risks to the stock market do exist. Fink said the arrival of coronavirus variants that dramatically reduce the effectiveness of Covid vaccines is the biggest one.

Long term, Fink said, the government deficit — which has grown as the U.S. Congress passed trillions of dollars worth of pandemic stimulus to support the economy— poses a more of a threat.

“Deficits right now are not a big issue, and that’s what the markets are saying,” Fink contended. “They’re not a big issue because the amount of money that’s on the sideline, the amount of capital that is trying to be put to work.”

However, Fink said the strength of the economy in the years ahead could change his outlook.

“If we don’t have economic growth that is sustainable over the next 10 years — and I’m saying economic growth that is above 3% — our deficits are going to matter, and they are going to elevate interest rates at some time,” he said.

Fink’s comments came after BlackRock reported first-quarter results that beat Wall Street expectations. The company’s assets under management also increased to just over $9 trillion, up 39% from $6.47 trillion in the same quarter a year ago.

Buletin for friends.

Resistant 4.46
Resistant 4.31
Closing price 4.25
Support 4.18
Support 3.75

Eversince DIGI went up 0.70 from 3.75, it has been stable at 4.30 or so. Did not went down. Major support 4.18 has been found. Tested for few times but not broken by closing price.

If closing price closes below 4.18, then downtrend.
If closing price stays above 4.18, then uptrend still intact.

Verdict - STILL IN UPTREND.
