and with this news..

Post-liberalization, NFP’s foreign ownership restriction will be increased from 30% to 70% while NSP’s will be elevated from 49% to 70% (see Figure #2).

This new policy paves way for MCMC’s to achieve its objective of consolidating the overcrowded industry, especially amongst the smaller players such as U Mobile and the WiMAX players including P1, Yes, REDtone and Asiaspace. Besides that, more investment into the country will create healthier competition which eventually leads to cheaper and better service quality to the consumer at large.

DiGi, Maxis, U Mobile and P1 are owned by substantial foreign shareholders (see Figure #3) whose core businesses are also in telco industry which make them as the possible prime targets due to this new ruling.

Among all, we think that Telenor may be the first to take advantage of this new development to raise its current 49% stake in DiGi. It was reported that Telenor has been in talks with government in this regard since last year and always view Asian operations as the main growth engine of the group. Furthermore, DiGi’s last closing share price of RM4.86, a retraction of 12.7% from its historical high of RM5.57, might be considered as a good entry point.

remember that this a 2-way mkt. Supply and demand determines a share price. Stock price will reach an equilibrium point after heavy selling pressure is completed....we wait and see lor...not the end of the world ma. to be fair to all, singh is looking at market crash. is the USA flying off the fiscal cliff? it really depends on how the powers to be resolves it. My gut feeling is, it will be the 11th hour before everything is dealt with. By then panic will be already overblown. The EU contagion will also bear down, but fortunately China is recovering and the outgoing president did mention they are willing to step in to help provide some credit if the troika asks for it! the question we must also ask is, what if the market doesn't crash? i had known from an informed friend that BN has told GLCs to sell since few weeks ago. time to take advantage and also to keep the index low so that equity FDIs could flow back in. If you think GE will be an important factor in market run, then its actually happening now, folks. I had already informed some within the i3investor community what the informed friend said about BN strategy previously with email dates to back it up!

Singh is just smart and taking advantage of the situation. He is clever is giving a low figure, because the future is still uncertain. druids of old, because of their cerebral prowness and position in society, always capitalize on people's fear and greed to advance their own position being a fear peddlar.The most famous being Rasputin, which i think manage to bed the Czar's wife in the process! :)

what has singh got to lose? if it drops, he claims he is always right. If it goes up, he still wins, with fear fully blown and collecting from the side (why would he need to tell anyone he is buying?). He will already claim he is right and market is irrational even if he is wrong in spite and despite the market movement!

The other reason which may have help his confidence of a drop is the GE. But experience tells that bluechip will always bounce back faster than fundamentally weak stocks. if you see BN taking the election, then status quo, but even if PR takes Putrajaya, i still see it as business carrying on as usual! Anwar is pro-US and backer of capitalism no? that's the reason he subscribed to IMF suggestion and raised interest ceiling in the first place during the Asian financial crisis. but i think the selling is already in full force as mentioned in first paragraph.

So find a position you are happy and take advantage of the situation. Don't go banging a non-existing un-phrenly singh in the internet (what are you gonna do since he disappeared already last two days?). its not that he is kind to alert all of you by shouting everyday to sell sell! he just wants to build a position at his price. just find a position in Digi that you like and remember that Digi being a bluechip will always bounce back when the panic is subdued and positive news flow back in.

i like to write long so that because he doesn't want to read. Yet he tells everyone to read back what he writes. full time peddlar who claims he is always right!

i do expect a bullish start for 2013 with USA avoiding the fiscal cliff! mild contractions are expected everywhere else! you must remember that cause and effect has a delayed response. for eg, China's recovery in PMI will only be reflected next year; namely 1st or 2nd quarter. The market always needs time to digest and feel the full brunt of yesterday's effects! clever investors take advantage of this!

but how next year peter out for the rest of 2013, will really depends on few factors, namely how they handle more funds in the market! inflation and oil prices is expected to take centre stage! currently, the market is feeling the effects of few low quarters of the developed countries! Many are rushing back to gold or selling in earnest. Buffett is indeed salivating!
