depends on the motive of investor.
a) he decides to save his money at the bank but at the same time he need to use the money anytime because of emergency. However, getting bank interest is quite low. If he put at FD he cant use the money anytime. Therefore, to beat the game he decide to put the at a stock which delcared high dividend.

MissElizaClarke, i like your idea. But i won't buy DIGI to invest as dividend share.

Today Price @ RM5.00, (average dividend/qtr RM0.055x4qtr = RM0.220)/RM5.00 = 4.4%
disadvantage is that holding price is too high and dividend will shrink in the future due to heavy competition

My preference would be BJToto
Today Price @ RM3.22, (average dividend/qtr RM0.04x4qtr = RM0.16)/RM3.22 = 5%

Almost same % but holding cost for BJToto is lower. Lower risk perhaps?

hhmmmm that time i thought digi got potential to up.....so i bought this share.....Capital gain + Dividend....one stone kill 2 bird....manatau this stock make me disaapoint and stay with lanciao with 1 year already....

Based on your calculation, i think is valid to change to BJ toto if a year ago...
