David Chan, based on your link the outstanding bond already been sorted out.. 22mil from singking fund, another 35mil from MIDF Amanah bridging loan.
last time share consolidation of scomi.. midf guy was appointed

Hi guys

Default payment was due to delayed timing of bridging loan

In any case it has been resolved
So as I already stated it is only a temporary hiccup when cash arrives to clear off bond payment

Scomies is sound financially

1. It still has outstanding monies lent to Scomi mother yet to be repaid

2. Next year Rm600 millions drilling fluid sale to Kuwait oil Corp will commence. This will lock in profits for netx 5 years

3. Scomies can follow masteel example to revalue assets and book them as profits

4. Alternately, scomies could sell some of its assets to raise cash. Its oil tools business alone is worth Rm300 millions to Rm500 millions.
Already has 2 jv contracts with Petchem scomies could sell half its oil tools assets to Petchem or other interested parties

5. Scomies marine business is registering good profits as there is no further mark down from impairments

AND some highlights

1. Idle vessels could find jobs as Brent Crude now up to Usd65. 00.

2. Its coal transport business in Indonesia will see growth as Jakarta will shift its capital to kalimantan. Loss of cement will be needed for such a massive undertaking
And cement needs lots of coal

3.Since bulk ships are told to clean its fuel waste before releasing to the oceans next step could be drilling fluid

Scomies drilling mud/fluid is biodegradable and can be discharged directly into the sea or oceans

If who mandate biodegradable drilling fluid then Scomies might get a bonanza

4. Scomies still has buildings in Malaysia and kalimantan stated at very low book value
Again these could be sold to unlock cash

THE price of scomies is 7 sen and its not yet revalued nav is 16 sen so it has margin of safety unlike utusan and barakah which were negative

Calvin still sanguine on scomies prospects
So if any sell down on Monday scomies present a good buying opportunity

Remember these

1. Insolvent perdana was rescued by Dayang sukuk loans

2. Bumi armada huge rm9 billions loans hiccup was overcome by lender of last resort.

If both these with worst prospect can clear its impediments and share prices still rising why not Scomies

Scomies problem is only a fraction of theirs

So just go and buy while others fear

If you know there is nothing to fear
