THE FACE OF A VERY GREEDY MAN: BE WISE, MAHATHIR – ACCEPT THAT NO ONE CAN BE PM FOR THE 3RD TIME, THE PEOPLE NO LONGER TRUST IN YOUR ABILITY – EVEN AMANAH MINCES NO WORDS – WHILE NAZRI CALLS FOR SNAP GE TO END ‘PING-PONG GAME’ AT BOTH PERIKATAN & PAKATAN

Pakatan Harapan should work to resolve its Prime Minister candidate issue quickly, which is like “a bone stuck in the throat”, said Amanah vice-president Mujahid Yusof Rawa.

Mujahid used the northern Malay analogy to describe the issue and said Harapan leaders had been reluctant to resolve the sticky situation ever since the coalition was formed before the 14th General Elections.

“This bone stuck in our throats is slowing us down and constantly threatening the path ahead of us. Unfortunately, some ‘friends’ do not help but keep blocking the path,” he said.

“Whether today the bones can be taken out or not, our voters are hoping for the best,” added the Parit Buntar MP.

He further said former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad had to come to terms that no one should become PM for the third time, adding that PKR president Anwar Ibrahim is the natural choice for the top office as agreed to by the Harapan coalition partners.
“Both leaders need to see the larger truth, which is to save the rakyat from Perikatan Nasional, who toppled a legitimate government after brokering for positions and power,” Mujahid said.

“The post-Covid-19 situation needs a strong and trustable government who has strong national resilience where PN has failed. Let’s hope for the best decision today,” he added.

Mujahid was responding to Harapan and its allies possibly reaching a consensus on their candidate for PM today, paving the way for a countercoup.

He explained that Mahathir (below) could reposition himself politically but could still be around to help the new PM candidate gain acceptance.

There had been various proposals for the PM candidate to be Anwar Ibrahim or Warisan president Mohd Shafie Apdal, while Mahathir may be seeking to make a comeback, even if briefly, to set the stage for an ‘honourable exit’ from the political arena.

Meanwhile, Mujahid said whatever the decision is today, the people’s mandate needs to be restored as soon as possible, adding that the country’s political situation had reached a point of anti-climax with the establishment of a government without the people’s mandate.

“There needs to be a ‘next step’ because the intention of the ruling party today under PN is unclear – in the context of the country’s recovery plan,” he said.

“What is clear is that (the PN coalition) is simply in power as a means to (benefit) each other and not (fulfil) a manifesto they are trying to implement,” he added.

Mujahid stressed that if PN continued to rule, the country would suffer after spending prolonged time and energy dealing with political implications.

“Despite Harapan’s weaknesses, the intention among our coalition parties is clear in that we wish to restore the country. Our vision of cooperation and our fight against corruption and abuses of power is clear and obvious,” he added.

Nazri calls for snap polls, says time to end PN-Harapan ‘ping-pong’ game
Former de facto law minister Nazri Abdul Aziz has urged the ruling Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition to call for snap polls to end the political uncertainty.

This came after speculation that Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin was gearing up for snap elections by the year’s end after tabling an election budget.

The snap polls should be conducted at the parliamentary and state levels once the Covid-19 pandemic is under control, Nazri (above) was quoted as saying by Free Malaysia Today (FMT).

The “ping-pong game” of PN and Pakatan Harapan, where both sides claimed to have the majority support of MPs, has to stop as the people were uneasy with the political uncertainty, he said.

“One day it (the majority) is in my court and the next day, it is in your (Harapan) court then it is in my (PN) court. Let’s stop this uncertainty and have the general election.”
The Padang Rengas MP believed that Harapan does not command the numbers because if it did, it would have called for a press conference to announce it.

He hoped that Bersatu, Umno, and PAS will arrive at an agreement on the seat distribution for the polls as the three parties are Malay-based and could eye the same seats.

“Let’s make sure PN has a good majority and then we can stop this ping-pong game once and for all,” he said.

Citing the collapse of the Harapan government in less than two years, Nazri said the Malay parties in PN must champion the interests of the Malays.

He pledged his support to Muhyiddin (above) and said the latter should continue leading the government.

Muhyiddin is the most popular choice and had shown to be capable in his first 100 days in office, he said.

The Harapan-led federal government fell in February following a political coup, dubbed the Sheraton Move, which saw the defections of MPs from Bersatu and PKR.

Harapan also lost power in Johor, Perak, Malacca, and Kedah. Warisan-led Sabah had been speculated as the next to fall.

Snap polls appeared to not be in favour of Harapan as the combined support among Malays for Umno and PAS exceeded those won by Harapan back in the 2018 general election.

Nazri noted there were lots of uncertainties at the state level, especially in Sabah after former chief minister Musa Aman was cleared of all 46 corruption and money laundering charges.

“He is probably stronger (now after the court cases). He is the rightful chief minister in the first place,” he added.

It was reported yesterday that two Upko lawmakers – Kuala Penyu state assemblyperson Limus Jury and Sugut state assemblyperson James Ratib – left their party to become independents supporting PN.

Warisan vice-president Junz Wong said the Sabah government was still solid with a two-thirds majority despite the two Upko lawmakers leaving the coalition.

The Star quoted Wong as saying that the Sabah government commanded 41 out of 60 state seats while PN only controlled 19.

Nobody in PH now seems to want to talk about the criminally empty promises Mahathir made earlier to Anwar which practically cheated voters into voting for him in GE 14. Everybody seem to want to move on. Well that's fair. But move on again with Mahathir, you just gotta be kidding me.
Since everybody seems to like to see, hear, and talk no evil about those promises as people are naturally 'muda lupa' let me just take you through the chronology of Mahathir's publicly made promises just to jerk your memories back to some senses.
Promise #1 As reported on Feb 4 2018. The mother or all promises.

Posted by AGESON IS THE BEST > 2020-06-19 08:49 | Report Abuse

The last promise came with a twist as he then started to talk about numbers and the Dewan Rakyat being the one to decide. On Feb 23 2020 he sat at his home with leaders of six opposition parties behind PH's back and resigned as PM on the 24th.
Mahathir did not fulfil his public promises to Anwar and he did not publicly nor privately apologise to Anwar and the voters who were fooled by his promises.
Even now this man is using his supposed numbers to trump over Anwar and still want to take the lead despite completely forgetting his earlier unconditional promises to Anwar. He has also conveniently forgotten how he recklessly let slip the hard won power which if he had held on to it, we would not be in such a freakingly frustrating situation with the backdoor govt running the country like the wild west and the opposition still having to fight about who would be the right person to lead them. If Mahathir is still the man to lead, then half the battle for the opposition is already lost, instead of being won.

Nazri is just like a lalang..wherever the winds blow it will follow.
I still remember his statement. Najib i will support you when he is the PM. Mahathir I will support you when he is PM. Anwar I will support you to be the PM. Now Muhyiddin same saying I will support you. Aiyaaa semua you mau support i also pening and dun know which one is sincere.

I am disgusted with the conduct of the coalition’s leaders. An ox, a snake, a peacock, a baboon and a goat. None speak the same language but all want power.

Yeah They forgot, we, the voters, put them there. Now, they are all crying over spilt milk and are goading the rest of the zoos to turn jumping amphibians for them.

I am disgusted with Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders too. Many are clueless, shooting each other in broad daylight.

As a voter, I am changing my voting registration area and look forward to the next general election. Yes, I only have one vote but this one vote will go to the leader who would serve that community the best.

If Mahathir and PKR president Anwar Ibrahim are truly sincere in saving Malaysia, they should set aside their differences.

It’s hard to blame Anwar for being cautious and seeming to be non-cooperative. After all, he was backstabbed by Mahathir multiple times.

However, Anwar is also fully aware that Harapan cannot retake Putrajaya without Mahathir. Most likely, Mahathir would want to return as the ninth PM (PM9) for legacy’s sake or at least position Mukhriz before he steps back from the political scene.

My preference is for Anwar to be made PM9 and have either Mukhriz or Warisan leader Shafie Apdal be the deputy prime minister. Mahathir can continue as a senior adviser to Harapan.

Finally, Amanah vice-president Mujahid Yusof Rawa opened his mouth to confirm the divisions within Amanah itself.

Amanah communications director Khalid Samad had taken a more amenable position in regards to Mahathir becoming PM, whereas Mujahid clearly rejected this.

With such divisions, how can Harapan Plus be formed, and if formed, could it have the number of MPs to support Mahathir's no-confidence motion?

Having 112 MPs would no longer be acceptable as it creates an unstable government and the Agong may then call for elections. It has to be at least 120 MPs.

Bear in mind it was Mahathir who submitted the motion of no confidence, not Anwar who is the opposition leader who obviously has no confidence to table the motion. Let Mahathir be the PM or take the consequences that come with the continuation of the PN government.

Is it the birthright of Anwar to be the PM even though he has nothing to show for his 20 years in politics except for the word ‘reformasi’ and his jail terms. He cannot even manage PKR, how to manage Malaysia?

Posted by HELLO, I AM GOD! > 2020-06-19 08:55 | Report Abuse

Anwar and Harapan should prepare for a snap GE. This is the safest strategy to adopt. Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and gang won’t give in without a fight. Former PKR deputy president Azmin Ali is forming new party knowing Umno and PAS won’t accommodate his gang, and neither will Muhyiddin’s Bersatu.

If PN loses the numbers in Parliament, Umno and PAS will press for a snap GE. Expect the current PN partners to tear themselves apart over seat allocation - the only certainty is that Umno and PAS will walk away with the most seats to contest.

In the fresh GE, Mahathir should not contest but can contribute to the campaign. If he contests, this time he may lose his seat, a double blow to his dignity and his ego, having been backstabbed by Muhyiddin and Azmin.

Harapan will be led by Anwar and some agreement with Sabah and Sarawak allies should be given – perhaps the deputy PM position if it becomes the federal government once again.

Actually, they are two hard bones stuck in Harapan's throat. Let go two of them, Harapan will survive. We need a younger PM, who has better visions to bring Malaysia to the next level.

Posted by UraniumKing68 > 2020-06-19 08:57 | Report Abuse

It is beyond a shadow of a doubt that Mahathir cannot be trusted. He may play out Anwar again even if given a chance to be the PM for six months.

Yes, the best solution is to go for a snap election. Let the people decide who will the future PM whether it is Mahathir, Anwar, Shafie, Muhyiddin, Najib Abdul Razak or Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

This is a Malay country. If most Malays want to choose Najib as the new PM, so be it. Even if Anwar loses in any future snap election, he will lose with dignity. If most Malays want this country to go to the dogs, let it be. It is their choice.

Good morning guys

Posted by KennyDowJones > 2020-06-19 08:58 | Report Abuse

It's so sad that DrM still want to helm this loose coalition. It's him that resigned without consulting the other teammates and fed us to the hungry PN parasites. He didn't expect to be played out.

I cannot understand why DAP or Amanah still want to support this egoistic and evil man? Warisan is all bullshi.t and most of their leaders are corrupted and self serving.

Even though I don't fancy AI but I feel that he is the only experienced ethical leader to pull us through this difficult times.

What if AI compromise and agreed to be DPM and after 6 months, things turn sour again? How will DAP and Amanah face the voters? It's a strategy that DrM plans to kill all the political parties he once hated and still do.

Sad but it's something we as outsiders can see and pray for a better Malaysia.

Posted by UmbrellaCorp > 2020-06-19 08:59 | Report Abuse

He should have consulted the PH before resign but he didn't thinking he can turn the tides around to his favour without PH.

AI, twice bitten shy.

DrM with due respect, please give chance to the new generation.
Perhaps you can create a sympathy vote for PH+ to win the next GE15
